In his sermon, Father Beck re-

ty to stay in touch with God and
with Jesus.

United Church
At Grand Bend United Church,
Rev. Ted Smits told the children
the story of a father with three
strongr quarrelsome sons. He
showed them a bundle of sticks,
bound with twine, and asked them
to break the bundle. Of course,
they couldn't but each separate stick
was easy to snap. In the unity of
thelChurch lies the strength of the.
people, for divisions result in a
weakened church.
In his sermon, Smits used the
text of Isaiah 35:8 "And a highway
shall be there and it will be called
the. Holy Way." He compared the
polluted environment of our world
to the pollution of our spiritual
world with human faults like greed,
jealousy, lies and other evils. We
are, called to a road free from pollu-
tion, "the Holy Way".
