'My challenge' is theme of Junior Farmers of Ontario
CLINTON - The Challenge -is
Mine in '89 is the theme of the Jun-
ior Farmers' Association of Onta-
rio's Annual Provincial Conference
bang held March 17th to 19th in
Toronto. Junior Farmers from
across Ontario will be attending the
Conference on behalf of their local
club or county organization.
The Conference is the kick-off of
the new Junior Farmer Year. At the
Conference the Association's Annu-
al Meeting is held with the election
of the new 1989 Provincial Execu-

STAFFA - Mrs. Gladys Kirk and
her daughter Wilma Bell, Hamiota,
Manitoba, visited recently with
John and Marjorie Drake, Staffa.

and Mrs. Mabel Gilfillan, Exeter.

hen Templeman visited on the
weekend with Carol Stewart, Kitch-
ener and also enjoyed some skiing.

WI meets
Joyce Vivian hosted the agricultu-
ral meeting of Staffa Women's In-
stitute at her home in Mitchell on
Wednesday afternoon when Joanne
Wilhelm was guest speaker, telling

Lillian Douglas presided for the
meeting opening with the Institute

poem "The Little Red Hen."
Twelve members answered the roll
call by naming something that was
produced on the farm to market
stage, that is now purchased on a
grocery store and also naming the
minister of agriculture the year you
were born.
Joyce Vivian conducted an animal
by products and a discussion was
held on 4H and our contribution to
it. Lillian Douglas conducted a quiz
on Agrio Foods.
Staffa Women's Institute will be
hosting the Perth South District
Annual at Main Street United
Church on Tuesday May 16. Verle
Mahon gave a wee smile.
Roberta Templeman presided for
the business when a donation was
made to Tciccare and our usual do-
nation to the Mitchell Music Festi-
val. It was decided to again set up a
display at Mitchell Fair. The
Theme this year is 'Home For
Thanksgiving" and a committee
was named. The March meeting
was reviewed and the meeting
closed with lunch served by Joyce
Vivian and Hazel Harburn.
Prayer Day
The Hibbert United Church
Women hosted the World Day of
Prayer on Friday and were joined by
the Cromarty Presbyterian church
women for the afternoon program,
which was jointly chaired by Mar-
garet Christie and Hazel Harburn.

Guest speaker for the afternoon
was Jack Isaac, Mitchell. Jack had
been to the Dr. Graham Homes in
India last November where he took
video's of the school and the chil-
dren being looked after at these
homes. Jack and his wife along
with other member of Knox Pres-
byterian Church, Mitchell, have
sponsored children from the Dr.
Graham homes for many years.

Templeman and thanked by Ruth
Laing. The ladies of Hibbert Unit-
