al Win Carnival Queen contest.
Fiv mi -finalists will be chosen
to eturn to the Carnival Queen
Dance on Saturday night, when a
runner-up and the 1989 Carnival
Queen will be cl.osen and an-
nounced at 11 p.m.
Winner will receive a trip for
two to Canada's fashion capital,
Montreal. ,Their hotel is in the
heart of the fashion boutique and
furrier section on this exciting

GRAND BEND - Haggarty's
Fashions Ltd. was delighted to be
invited to provide the clothes for
the 1989 Grand Bend Winter Carni-
val Fashion show on Friday Febru-
ary 3. Entcring their ninth year in
business on Main Street in Parkhill
and having been involved in many
fashion shows such as the Interna-
tional Ploughing Match and the Ca-
nadian Cancer Society, they feel
1989 will definitely be one of the
most exciting year sever seen in the
fashion industry.
For the Grand Bend event, they
have the co-operation of a major
Canadian manufacturer, to show an
exclusive preview of a brand new
line -never seen by the public be-
fore. .
The show will be rounded out by
other original fashions, some by lo-
cal designers like Barbara Feaver,
presenting her Sun Shop "Hot
Lincs". Another local designer
Yvonne .Falsetti of Unique Trends
will show sweaters and accessories
with a country flair.
Custom designs in Suede and
Leather by Lea -Nelson will be new
for the '89 show as will the Week-
ender Ladies Wear Fashion single
kit co-ordinates provided by Milvie
Iskauskas.
Models will be contestants for the
1989 Carnival Queen contest.
Show starts at 8 p.m. at the Grand
Bend Legion Banquet Hall and tick-
ets are available at the Barcfoot Ped-
lar in Grand Bend, and Haggarty's in
Parkhill. $7.50 per person includes
complimentary Hors d'ouevres.
