Legion mixed dart league
continues. The Sassenachs
have moved back into first
place by a single point.
The Sassenachs have a
season total of 35 points
while the Winkers and
Outlaws are deadlocked for
second spot with 34 points
apiece. The Evil Eyes are
next with 33 points and the
Family Affair has 31.
Next come theScottiesand
Doublers even at 29 points,
the Rowdy Ones have 27
points and tied with 26 each
are the Itchy Niters, Out of
Space and Chances.
Completing the standings
are the Nicky Tams and
DR's with 25, Shiphunters 23,
CB'ers 20 and Canscotts 17.

Jets continue loss streak,
• lose to Perths byagoal
The Lucan-Ilderton Jets
continued their losing streak
in the O11A Continental
senior league this week by
dropping games to the
Chatham Maroons and
Stratford Perths although
the second loss was by only
one goal.
Friday, the Jets were
thumped 9-3 by the Chatham
Maroons and Sunday they
lost 7-6 to the Stratford
Perths. Both games were
played at the Ilderton arena.
Both games this coming
week for the Jets will be on

One of the three wins for
the Jets this season has come
over the Allan Cup champion
Petrolia Squires.
Fights and penalties
marred Friday's game
between the Jets and
Chatham. The L-1 club had
several players tossed out
with major misconduct
penalties following a third
period brawl.
Jets defenceman Barry
42 Baynham was thrown out
41 after receiving a two minute
40 hooking penalty from
referee Tony Steyaert in the
second period. After being
assessed the minor penalty,
Baynham persisted in
arguing and was tagged with
a couple of more penalties.
With the misconduct goes a
two game suspension.
The third period fiasco
started after Dave Easton of
Chatham threw his stick in
the air after scoring a goal. A
38 couple of Jets took exception
25 to the antics of Easton and
40 before long the benches were
44 emptied.

On Thursday Zurich came
back from a three goal
deficit and defeated the
Hensall Sherwoods 6-4 in
Hensall.
The Sherwoods hit the
score sheet first as Brian
Campbell converted passes
from Garry Koehler and
Jamie Caldwell.
Midway through the
period,Caldwell picked up a
goal of his own as. he fired
one past Randy Oke in net
for the Buckeyes. Brian
Campbell assisted.
The final goal for the
Sherwoods for almost two
periods of play as Allan
Taylor scored. Caldwell and
Brian Campbell assisted.
The Buckeyes barrage
began with only ten seconds
left in the period as Rick
Schilbe scored with help
from Dave Cyr.
In the second period
defenceman John Graham
put the visitors to within a
goal as he scored on Hensall
goalie Laurie Skinner. Ron
Rader picked up the assist.
Only three minutes later
Ron Desjardine tied the
game up as he took passes
from Schilbe and Cyr.
Glen Zirk gave Zurich the
lead they never relinquished
as he scored with only 12
seconds left in the period.
Rader and Mike Clarke
assisted.
The Buckeyes scored what
proved to be the eventual
winner as Pat Bedard, Steve
Bedour and . Gerald Weido
teamed up, with Bedard
putting one in the net.
Hensall's final goal of the
game came from the stick of
Lloyd Allan. Rick Ingram
assisted.
Zurich picked up the in-
surance marker at 14:59 as
Weido found the range.
Graham assisted.
Thursday the Buckeyes
take on CCAT while on
Sunday the Buckeyes and
Sherwoods do battle in
Zurich.

a three goal effort. His third
goal was the 200th of his
Continental league career.
L. Figgins was next with two
goals while single scores
were chalked up by Dave
Easton, Tom Rogers, Gary
Brown and Randy Aitken.
First half scoring
Most of the scoring in
Sunday's game came in the
first two periods. The Perths
led 5-3 after the first period
of play and the Jets counted
the only two goals of the
second frame to get the 5-5
tie.
The three Jets goals in the
first period came in the first
six and a half minutes of
play.
Hugh Mitchell started the
scoring at 3.13 with assists
being provided by Rick
Banks and Rob Dean. Only a
minute later, Bruce Reddick
registered on a three-way
combination with Tom
Hodgins and Randy Kraul.
At 6.36, Steve Proctor hit
on a power play with passing
help from Hugh Mitchell and
Randy Kraul.
In the second period, Dave
Brown completed a good
passing effort with Jamie
Robb and Ian McTavish and
McTavish hit the mark with
passing help from Brian
Johnston and Dave Brown.
Mitch Kennedy scored
what proved to be the win-
ning goal for Stratford while
his team was playing short
handed at 16.45 of the third
period.
The final L -I score came
from the stick of Tom
Hodgins at 18.40 on assists to
Jamie Robb and Hugh
Mitchell with the Perths
playing a man short.
Eric Brubacher and
Graham Snider led the
Stratford scoring attack with
two goals each'

Mohawks win over Goderich
The Exeter Mohawks
gained revenge for a
previous loss by downing the
Goderich Merchants 5-2 in
South Huron intermediate
hockey league play at the
South Huron Rec Centre,
Thursday night.
The next action for the
Mohawks takes place
tomorrow night, Thursday at
the South Huron Rec Centre
with the strong Centralia
Marauders supplying the
opposition.
In Thursday's win over
Goderich, the Mohawks took
a 2-0 lead after the first 20
minutes of play and were
able to hold the lead
throughout.
The two first period Exeter
goats came in a two minute
stretch starting near the six
minute mark.
Brion Penhale opened the
scoring at 5.46 on a three-
way combination with Scott
Burton and Randy Gilfillan
and two minutes later Don
McKellar bulged the
Goderich net with assists
going to Bill Van Bergen and
Larry Bourne.
The Mohawks upped their
lead to 3-0 at 9.36 of the
middle frame on a successful
shot by Ron Moore on a pass
from Jack Chipchase.
The first Goderich shot to
beat John Hayter in the
Exeter nets came at 15.34 of
