WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD Twenty-five ladies at- tended the November meeting of the UnitedChurch Women Monday evening. Mrs. Rick Parker welcomed everyone and gave the Call to Worship on Remembrance. Mrs. Jack Duncan gave the Meditation on the Scripture and prayer and Doris Elford read a Psalm. "What does our Country by Miss Bev Jack A "Why mean Mrs. Doris Alexander to you? The offering was received by Mrs. Duncan and Miss Doris Elford. Mrs. William Rohde read a poem November Landscape and conducted the usual business. It was decided to give the Board of Stewards $500 to assist on their work at the church. It was decided to buy some more dishes the same as our set. Mrs. Murray Dawson gave a Newstiash in connection with Church In Society. Mrs. Paul Passmore gave the slate of officers for 1980. Mrs. Gerry Morgan and Mrs. Ted Kernick are also on the nominating committee Lunch was served by the hostess Mrs. Bill Rowcliffe and her committee. U.C.W. Baby Band_Party The annual Baby Band party was held Saturday afternoon with eight ladies and 12 children present. Mrs. Glenn Rohde welcomed everyone. Mrs. Rohde read a poem Why God Made Little Girls and Mrs. David Passmore read Why God Made Little Boys. Mrs. Rohde gave a prayer and Mrs. Passmore read the story The children put their collection in a jar. When mothers of Salem was sung, Mrs. Rohde and Mrs. Passmore then conducted the graduation exercises. Those graduating were Deanne Ballantyne, Robbie Passmore, Tom Passmore, and Jayne Rowe. Mrs. Larry Ballantyne assistant Messenger leader welcomed the graduates to the Messengers as they passed through the arch. Rev. Joe Driskill, Chaplain at the University of Western Ontario was the guest speaker Sunday morning at the regular church service along with Pastor Ross Hargreaves. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart spent a week recently with their daughter and son in- law Mr. and Mrs. Rick Potter and family in Regina, Saskatchewan. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Weir of Timmins visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Duncan and then attended the Royal Winter Fair one day last week. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Weir, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Duncan, Floyd and Shiela were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hulley, Gilford spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bray.
