Couples club enjoy • hayride, wiener feed • • Saturday evening, members of the Couples' Fellowship met at the farm of Bill -and Toni Davies, north, of Lucan. Several members went for a hayride around the concession block with the wagon being pulled by tractor. - A good fire was the source of heat in a stone firepit; around which the couples sat on lawn chairs. Using wire coathangers, they roasted wieners and toasted buns on the mesh cover of the firepit. A skit "Little John" brought much laughter as "Little John", played by John Sloetjes as feet and Hans Van Der Gaag from Holland, as arms and hands proceeded to demonstrate the atrocious manner of "Little John" eating his breakfast, then having to be cleaned up. After the wiener roast all sang choruses led by Larry McGill. Rev. and Mrs. Ray Brewster and their family are back from a two week vacation in St. John, N.B., where for one week he preached in his home Church. John and Lorraine Armitage of 'London, members of the Lucan Revival Centre, have returned from a two week vacation in Vancouver, where they visited Mrs. Armitage's sister and husband, Kathy 'and Grant Jeffrey. While there they also visited a former pastor and, the family, Rev. and Mrs: Gordon McDonald.. At Abbotsford, B.C. they visited a .former Lucanite, Mrs. Linda Lang and her husband David and their family. • On Sudday, Rev. Ray Brewster led the singing at both morning and evening services.. His message was taken from Luke 21:8-11 and 25-33. Events happening in the world are signs pointing to the second coming of Christ, Mr. Bewster told his congregation. The many false leaders today are a fulfillment of prophecy that such people would come just before Christ returned. The many wars among nations and the earthquakes also fulfill prophecy. Christians are to expect Christ's coming with joy, as we do not know just when his coming will be, but he commanded us to be ready when he does come. At the evening service Mr. Brewster's message taken from Jeremiah 2 :1114 pointed out that Christians need to believe that God is planning good for us. no matter what comes our way. He will bring us to the right end when we look to do His will with all our hearts. Clare Swartz provided a message .in song when he sang a medley of choruses.
