Last story hour for season

ZURICH - The last story hour of
the season will be at the library on
Thursday June 16 at 2 p.m. It will
be a "Fun Dai" for the kids with
games and stories.
All the "little ones have enjoyed
the programs at the library thanks
to librarian Helene Ducharme.
St. Boniface
The grade five and six students at
St. Boniface School spent the day
at the Wawanosh Nature Centre, a
conservation area near Belgrave. As
part of their science program the
students learned about trees and
wood lots. They were accompanied
by their teacher Mrs. Craig and
some of their mothers.
Rest Home Auxiliary
The Ladies' Auxiliary reported
that a profit of $785 was realized at
the last bake sale, including sales of
quilt tickets:
The purchase of some new, large
bowls to be used for special -dinners
was approved.
The next such dinner will be held
Sunday, June 26 in honour of Fa-
ther's Day for the residents and their
families. The auxiliary will be giv-
ing each male resident a fresh flower
on the 19th and•will be pinned on
by Mary -Lou Erb and Jean Burr.
The June picnic will be held on
Wednesday the 29th at 3 p.m. with
fun and games followed by an out-
dlr barbecue around 4:30 p.m. All
membct'arc welcome to attend.
Golden Agers
On Thursday afternoon the Zurich
Golden Agers were entertained at •
Huronview, Clinton. Students from
Hullett Central School and Wing -
ham Senior Public School,
presented a musical version of
Noah's Ark.
Gerrie Fleischauerspent the
weekend in London with her family
and attended a ball tournament at
Thames Park for the mentally han-
dicapped, Ten teams from Southern
Ontario competed.
Bingo
Bingo last Thursday at the arena
was held on the rink to accommo-
date the crowd of 250.
Deb Hunt from Huron Park won
the S300 mystery prize. The jack
pot worth S1,000 was split be:

Parish breakfast draws 250
About 250 parishioners of St.
Boniface church participated in a
breakfast last Sunday at the Com-
munity Centre and organized by the
building and fund-raising commit-
tees, with the help of members
from the Knights of Columbus and
the Catholic's Women's League.
All donations received wont to-
war,ls the building of a new church.

Women's Institute
The Zurich Women's Institute on
their outing last Wednesday stopped
at the home of Mary Waters in
Homestead Heights. After a short
business meeting, an oral contest
and a few jokes, our next stop was
at Penhalc's Wagon Shop in Bay-
field. - •
We were shown picture of wag-
ons, including the Disneyland wag-
on and small carriages sent to Ha-
waii. We were then shown through
the shop to see unfinished fibreglass
and woodcn carriages in the mak-
ing.
We were also shown two of the
six beautiful Belgian horses shown
at fairs and parades.
CHEERING SECTION The cold weather didn't stop these supporters from offering their words of encourage
-ment to the St. Boniface's sprinters.
Zurich bridal showers
A lovely bridal shower was held
for Trudy VandenBoomen last Sat-
urday afternoon at. the Hay Town-
ship Hall. Trudy is the daughter of
Arnold and Coby VandenBoomcn.
A shower was held for bride -elect
Barb Wilson, fiancee of Norman
Regier, at the town hall in Zurich
Saturday, June 12. Norman is the
son of Frank and Doreen Regicr of
Exeter. •
- Peter and Evelyn Jeffrey were sur-
prised to find nearly 100 of their
friends and relatives all waiting for
them in their garage on Saturday,
June 4 to help celebrate their 25th
wedding anniversary.
Friends and relatives attended a
musical recital at the public school
on Sunday afternoon presented by
the pupils of Laurie Erb.
This marked the end of the stu-
dent's music lessons until Septem-
ber.
Darrin Bradley Dcnomme son of
Dan and Karcn Dcnomme was bap-
tized on Sunday June 12 at St. Pe-
ter's Church, St. Joseph by Father
Bensette. His god -parents were Mi-
chael and Tammy Denommc of Ex-
eter.

of Terry and Linda Bedard, was bap-
tized at. St. Boniface Church on
Sunday, June 12 by Father Mooney.

ZURICH - June has been desig-
nated as Senior Citizens' Month and
we have several functions planned
to celebrate the occasion.
The sympathy of residents and
staff is extended to the family of the
late Mr. Wellington Rich!.
Mrs. Violet Dunn has returned
home from thehospital but Mr.
Harvey Keys is still a patient in
South Huron Hospital.
Residents who were out on the
weekend were Mrs. Alice Fcrg, He-
len Bedard, Jean Levine, Marcella
Dietrich, Loftus Denomn>re, Aaron
Gingcrich, Elizabeth Gingcrich, An-
thony Regier and Violet Huntley.
The Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. Larry
Stojkovic of the Dashwood Luthe-
