"Heritage Days" on this weekend

EXETER - Step hack in time thus
weekend and enjoy some old-
fashioned fun as the Exeter and Dis-
trict Heritage Foundation and the
11.1.A. present "l Icritagc Days '88",
Friday June 17 and Saturday, June
18
A variety of events have been
planned, and Friday's fun will start
with stagecoach rides around Exeter.
The st<tgec:oaches will be heated in
front of the Old 'Town flail and eve-
ryone - young and old alike - is in-
vited to ride around town for the
price of a nickel!!! Exeter's down-
town merchants will he dressed in
Heritage Costumes for the occa-
sion, and Our "White Wonder" will
make several appearances during the
two-day celebrations.
From 5 to 7:30 p.m., the heri-
tage Foundation is hosting a
"Strawberry and Hann Social" in the
Q1(I Town flail Auditorium. Tickets
are available at "Looking Good",
"Greeting Card World" and the
- "fawn Ol l ices, Or from any Founda-
tion Member. Adults Sb.00, kids.

Old -tune fiddle music can he
heard .starting at 7:00 p.m: in the
Square adjacent to the hall. Exeter's
own Jug Band will also ply in the
Square on Friday night. The Huron
Country Playhouse Young Compa-
ny will be on hand to present a mu-
sical tribute to Broadway -
'Everything Old"!! As you can sec,

your lawn chair and your friends and
enjoy the show - admission is

"1larket in the Square", 9:00 to
1.1:00 a.m. - variety unlimited"
Fresh baked g(wds, coffee and muf-
Iins, good, used books, etc. will be
available for sale. Participants in
the market arc local service and
youth groups and church organiza-
tions.
The stagecoach rides will start at
10:0(1 a.tn. and will continue
through the afternoon. At various
tunes on Saturday, children's old-
fashioned games will-bc held in the
Y.U.C. parkette. Times and events
will be posted in the parkcttc.
At 1:00 p.m. the Country Play-
house Young Company returns to
present, "Stories From Around The
Bend" - an affectionate look at the
origins and development of the arca
around Grand Bend.
_Lots of music, laughter and song
as this production moves through
the decades celebrating local
triumphs and personalities. Ideal for
all ages. To round out our afternoon
of entertainment, the Young Com-
pany will present their "Clown and
Mime Show" at 3:00 p.m. .
This .show is for children of all
ages. Both these performances will
take place in the Town flail Square,
and again, admission is FREE to
everyone!!
In the event of rain, all activities
will take place in the Town hall
Auditorium.
"Heritage Days '88" has lots go-

the University of Western Ontario
