sery School wilt be holding a Ted-
dy Bear's Picnic'and Bring a Friend
Day or Thursd'Jy, May 26. The
children are alt invited to bring a
preschool friend (2 1/2 - 5) as their
guests that day.

tural Society will hold it's next
meeting on Monday, May 30 at 8
p.m. at the Hensall United Church.
Don't forget to bring a wrapped gift
for the "Chinese Auction" as well
as some small change (eg 5 cents,
10 cents).

Bruce Peninsula trip on Monday,
June 6 please call Marg Cole or Bill
Gibson by Saturday, May 21. There
are only a few scats still available.

Six bylaws renewed by Hensall council
HENSALL - Even though the
May meeting of Hensall council
was kept under two hours long on
Monday evening, no fewer than six
bylaws were passed, mostly to up-
date older laws.
Chamncy Sanitation will contin-
ue to collect and dispose of Hen -
sail's garbage, but.at an increased
cost to the village: The current rate
of $802.50 per month will rise to
$1,000 per month until July 1990,
then the village will be charged
$1,100 per month until the contract

A tour of Ferguson Apiaries was
the highlight of our week, when
we visited the Honey House, Tues-
day morning. Rosemary Ferguson
and her staff gave a very interesting
presentation via slides and explana-
tion about the bee -keeping indus-
try. We also learned about some of
the by products of the honey busi-
ness such as bee pollen and wax.
You will see some of the beeswax
candles we've made for sale at our

beautiful colours. "Maid to Order”
was the featured film in the even-
ing. Also on Thursday, Iva Reid
and Dorothy Brintnelf of our La-
dies Auxiliary travelled to Sarnia
to attend a volunteers workshop.
They found it very enlightening
and will present a summary of the
information at thc next Auxiliary
meeting..
Friday, Baking Club met and
made squares. Speaking of Baking
club, our long awaited cook books
have arrived. These books arc for
sale in our Activity room for $6

chief that he has no authority to en-

lowed to inspect buildings, espe-
cially if the building inspector is
not available:

Jeff Westlake, Goderich; and DcAnn
Foreman and Monica Gingerich tied
for the Zurich team. Individual tro-
phies and plaques were made possi-
ble through the Cudmore Memorial
Fund set up in memory of Edgar
Cudmore. Edgar was active in
Youth For Christ from its inception
in 1949.
Guest speaker for the final Rally
was Rev. Bob Duthie from Shallow
Lake. Special music was provided
by the Zurich Mennonite youth.

to be held May 27 in Godcrich and
the Annual Chicken Barbcque June
25 at Zurich. Tickets must be pur-
chased in advance for both events

home in Clinton.
The U.C.W. meeting has been
changed to June 13. This will he a
pot luck picnic at 6:30 on the
church lawn. Everyone is welcome.

There was a good turn -out on last
Monday evening for the pot -luck
supper at Northcrest. After the din-
ner Pearl McKnight's brother Bill

tions. Bill was present for the even-
ing with his wife Helen.
Murray Craig returned home from
Exeter Hospital on Friday. The resi-
dents would all like to wish him a

been updated for 1988 to include the
new registration rates of $10 for thc
first and $13 for the second dog. In
addition, any untagged dog claimed
at the pound by the owner will not
be released until pound fees have
been paid and the dog licensed.
HOT DOG DAY - Grade one students Jeremy Willert and Gordon Rad-
ford enjoy a hot dog lunch at Hensall Public School. The lunches have
been held regularly during the school year and proceeds have gone to stu-
dent functions, including field trips.
