St. Columban Roman Catholic
Church on April 30, 1988 with Father
A. Sipek officiating. The bride's at-
tendants were matron of honour So-
fia Klaver, RR4 Seaforth, friend of
the bride and bridesmaids Geraldine.
Meikle, London and Karen Meikle,
RR2 Staffa, sisters of the bride,
Marg Nolan, London, sister of the
groom, and Pamela Wallace, Lon-
don, friend of the bride. Best man
was Fritz Klaver, Dublin, friend of
the groom, and the ushers were
Matt Klaver, Seaforth, friend of the
groom, Dan Nolan, RR2 Dublin,
brother of the groom, Doug Meikle,
RR3 Zurich, brother of the bride,
and Tony Van Bakel, RR2 Dublin,
friend of the groom. A reception fol-
lowed in the Seaforth Community
Centre. The couple will reside in
Seaforth.

HURONDALE - The annual
meeting and banquet of Hurondale
Women's Institute was held at Tri -
vitt Memorial Parish Hall, Exeter.
The A.C.W. served a delicious din-
ner. Secret pals exchanged gifts and
revealed their identity.
President Edina Keller opened the
mccting by reading a poem,
"Spring. Song". District Director
Fern Dougall _announced that on
June 5 a bus trip is being arranged
to go to Milton for the unveiling of
the flclen McKerchcr memorial.

GRAND BEND - Huron Country
Playhouse is taking an active role
in this year's theatrical productions
at South Huron . District High
School and Central Huron Secon-
dary School.
Sandy Macdonald, Artistic Direc-
tor at thc Playhouse has helped to
organize a two day event at the
Playhouse on June 3 and 4.
On June 3 at the Playhouse, Cen-
tral Huron Secondary School will
perform a new version of Les Mis
crables,- one of the world's greatest
literary classics by author Victor
I Lugo. This non-musical stage adap-
tation is the story of ex -convict,
Jean Valjcan, and his relentless pur-
suit by "law and order" police In-
spector Javert. it is filled with fasci-
nating vignettes of 19th Century
France, and the audience will be
treated to a brilliant cast of charac-
ters who weave an exciting tapestry
of human kind at its best and worst.

EXETER - Happy May Day to
everyone. Once May arrived the
weather seemed to improve over-
night. We arc glad to sec the change
and hope it continues.
Residents of thc Nursing Home
celebrated April Birthdays on Tues-
day with students from Mrs. Web-
ster's class. The students made party
hats,for everyone. It all looked quite
festive as we joined together for a
singsong. The only resident cele-
brating in April was Solomon Do-
nin.

Linda Foran and Julie McBride.
We enjoyed having the Senior
Citizcns host their monthly Bingo
last Monday. We look forward to
their visit each month. The Lioness
hosted an excellent evening of
slides. The focus was Oriental.
Mrs. Liz Stephens showed slides of
her travels. To finish the evening,
the ladies served fortune cookies and
tea.
Rev. Rick Hawley conducted our
worship services last week. Rev.
Hawley is from the Exeter United
Church. Residents of the Lodge re-
ceived communion at the conclu-
sion of thc service.
One highlight of our week includ-
ed our Sod Turning Ceremony on
Saturday. Although construction is
under way, local officials gathered
to offically begin the new addition.
Thanks to all those who participat-
ed;and attended the ceremony.
The Exeter Nursing Home Com-
mittee presented residents of the
Nursing Homc and Lodge with two
gas barbecues and three picnic
tables. Allan Cook, president of the
Nursing Home Resident Council
land Jim Smith, president of the
Lodge Resident Council accepted on
behalf of all the residents.

President Erlma Keller lit a new
candle signifying the beginning of a
new year. She expressed the hope
that the members give Gladys the
help and support that she has ex-
perienced. Erlma has followed the
practice of Fern Dougall and made
a floral arrangement for each mcct-
ing. This time, the candle was
nestled among a profusion of for-
sythia and daffodils bringing appre-
ciative members a breath of
Spring.
For the May mccting we arc re-
minded to bring a sample of our
winter hobby and tell about it, to
name a famous lady for roll call
and to brim a mother.
