With the help of Tony Jones, we arranged it under the bright- est light on the ice and set up a small stage behind it so that contributors could be sten with- out blocking the view of that noble, diesel -free machine. • While we worked, I noticed that the new shinty beast had ob.viously added a .new dimen- sion to Tony'sjob. He was more than happy to show it off. Reil Director Lynne Farquhar also had -a big smile on her face whenever she looked in -the di- rection of the Olympia._,, And well she should. - Lynne has given recognition to a lot of people.. for their con- tributions to the effort over the past few months. She d serves some of that recognition herself. Ev.•ery week, she has .len busy cooking up one schwmc or another to attract attention' for the cause. - A little negotiating here, a little challenge there, some heavy duty organization, so many pictures that by now she must have flashbulb burn on her face; and presto -- one brand new ice machine. Of course, every- body involved knows it wasn't as easy as it looks. Along with all the people who contributed to the effort, thc Winter Sports Council can be proud of the outcome of the pro- ject. -- While I took the picture, I Couldn't help thinking of the machine as a little more than just metal and rubber.
