AN OLYMPIC RUNNER - Dan Lines of Centralia was one of the Olympic Flame Torch Bearers run- ning at Fort McMurray, Alberta on February 8. Dan is employed at Syncrude Canada in Fort McMurray. Varna Sunday School are going 10 tour Schilbe's Maple Sugar Bush during Church and following this, both the Sunday School and Con- gregation arc invited to the Church Basement for pancakes served with maple syrup. Children should wear boots and dress appropriately. Please meet at the Church for rides. Shirley Keys and Doris Syming- ton, Pctrolia, have just returned from a two-week vacation in the Bahamas. They reported good weather, Tots of sunshine, good food and lots to do. While there they went on a couple of boat cruis- es, a Town and Country tour to Freeport and surrounding area, as well as to the Perfume Factory and Garden of Groves. One highlight of the trip was attending a local Bap- tist church where they were the only white people there, however they were made extremely welcome. Bob, June, Julie and Nancy Web- ster have returned from a two-week vacation in the south. They enjoyed a stop -over in Nashville, Tennessee where they took a guided tour of the city. Included in the tour was a back -stage look at the Grand Ole Opry, as well as a chance to visit Twitty City, better known as the home of Conway Twiny. They also saw many other Country Stars homes. They then journeyed over to Memphis, Tennessee, where they toured "Graccland", the mansion of the late Elvis Presley. The decor of the mansion was unbelievable and the tour also included a stop at the "King's" grave. They then were headed for Florida where they enjoyed a five-day stay •in the Orlando arca. Taking the scenic route home, they travelled through the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. They came upon the small village of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where Dolly Parton was born and raised. Her husband still lives in the. arca. They also stopped off at "Dollywood", her amusement park, but it was closed for the winter. Throughout the trip, the weather was warm (in the high 80's in Flor- ida) with only one day of rain.
