I'm . petrified that within a year
if I don't lose weight, I'll be out
to here
Round and fat and soft and stout
Where I should be in, I'll be

To weigh and watch all the things

-Eight glasses of water a day or so
Then "Nature Calls", and 1 have
to go.
The choice is mine, it's my cross
to bear .
To be fat or thin on my derriere
My heart said, "Please listen", 1
best not deny it
It said, "I'm built to run David,
not big Goliath."
It's sink or swim, I feet like a fish
A fish without a tail
The tides of my life either rise or
fall
When I step on the bathroom
scats.
How can I laugh when I'm over-
weight
And niy goal weight depends on
• What I've ate
For candy and cakes and sweets,
I'm a lover
Now I have to refuse since they
turn to blubber.
My body'sin conflict all day and
all night
My mind says, "No Thank You",

"Have mercy", it begs me, "Why
not stop and cat?"
"Behind me now Satan! You live
with defeat." • -

"Ontario is an cncrgy conscious
province, and our post -secondary
school' students arc the arc.hitects
and designers of the future," said
Wong. "We need to encourage them
to apply their fresh ideas and skills
to design cncrgy efficient homes
that arc attractive to the consumer,
practical to build, and that will ulti-
mately benefit the next generation
of cncrgy users."
The R-2000 Design Challcngc
began in 1985 to promote knowl-
edge and awareness of cncrgy-
efficient design and building tech-
niques among architectural stu-
dents.
This year, 350 students participat-
ed in preliminary judging within
their individual colleges and univer-
sities. The finalist in the R-2000
Design Challenge were chosen from
the submissions made by this year's
six participating architecture
schools.
Entrants were judged on their
ability to translate the specifica-
tions of the R-2000 standard for en-
ergy efficiency into new home de-
signs that arcpleasing and reflect
the lifestyle of today's home buyer.
The design had to be suitable for an
average income family, incorporate
practical building methodfi, conform
to the Ontario Building Code and
have good selling potential. Low
maintenance requirements and long-
term energy performance were im-
portant criteria. . .
Cost and cncrgy, saving features --
such as high levels of insulation,
controlled ventilation, airtight con-
struction, and' efficient heating
sources -- have proven to save 71
per cent of the heating costs asso-
ciated with -conventional homes.
"Alt of our finalists can be proud
of their successes," said Wong.
"This year, we had some excellent
submissions and our judges have
