amateur atfiletics with the presentation of Celebra-
tion
elebration '88 awards at the town hall Friday evening. Last
week's plans to make the presentations were scuttled
due to a snowbound. Highway 4.
A small crowd packed themselves into the council
chambers to bask in the glow of mini Olympic
torches and to see fellow citizens presented with
medals by Huron -Bruce MP Murray Cardiff and
reeve Jim Robinson.
Cardiff presented the medal for outstanding coach
to Bob Campbell in recognition of coaching the
Hensall Tyke team for the past four -and -one-half
years.
Jim Dickins received the medal for outstanding_

Huron District High School and the Exeter Midget
hockey teams, and also has a long involvement in.
motocross racing, in which he has won 53 trophies.

sponsor's medal on behalf of General Coach. The
company has been described as a "significant sponsor"
of Hensall's Minor Hockey Association and Minor Ball
organizations.
The community volunteer's medal went to Marg
Clarke, who was president of the Minor Ball Associa-
tion for six years and coached its teams for nine years.
She is presently involved with Hensall's Beavers and
Scouts.

Bisback.
Cardiff, flanked by Olympic mascots Heidi and
Howdy, spoke briefly about his pleasure at being able to
recognize the contributions of these people and how he
regretted this opportunity would not return next year.
After the torches were extinguished, the crowd lin-
gered to congratulate the recipients, while sampling the
cake decorated for the occasion and sipping free cans of
the official soft drink of the Winter Olympic Games.
