Broncos win by two
Atom Broncos left a trail of de-
struction on the road this week,
winning three consecutive
OMHA playoff games by two
goal margins.
A 4-2 win over Lambeth Wed-
nesday kicked off the week. Fri-
day, Broncos handed Ridgetown a
3-1 Loss and then went on to
bump Forest 5-3 Sunday.
Exeter Atoms now hold a
record of four wins and one loss
in round-robin playoff action.
A goal by Trevor Truemner
with four seconds left in the sec-
ond period snapped a scoreless
draw and made way for the Bron-
co victory over Lambeth Wednes-
day.
Lambeth matched Truemncr's
marker seconds into the final per-
iod, but Exeter quickly countered
with a goal by Sean McCann.
Assists on the play went to Mar-
ty Debruyn and Truemner.
Gavin Snell followed
McCann's goal 36 seconds later
oal margins
with an unassisted marker of
his own and then Mark Foster
completed the Bronco binge
when he scored from Jamie an
Dam and Glen Hines.
Lambeth managed one more
goal with just over one minute
to play in the game.
Recovering from a 1-0 lead
which Ridgetown established
Friday night in the second peri-
od, Broncos pumped in three
goals in the middle frame to
capture their second win of the
week. -
Snell opened the Exeter scor-
ing when he put the puck in
the net from Ted Hoffman after
30 seconds of play in the sec-
ond period.
McCann waited less than one
minute before following suit.
Debruyn assisted McCann.
An unassisted goal by Ian
Jean put the game out of reach
for Ridgetown.
Broncos found themselves in
a tough game Sunday when they
travelled to Forest. Again, nei-
ther team was able to score in
the first period, but things blew
open in the second.
McCann, assisted by Truerim-
er, blew the lid off the game by
scoring consecutive goals at 5:32
and 9:11 of the second. Snell
added a third goal at 9:55 after he
picked up a pass from Debruyn
and goalie Darren Kints.
At 11:20 Truemner seemingly
put the game. out of Forest's
reach with a goal. McCann drew
the lone assist.
Forest exploded in the third,
scoring three quick goals in the
opening minutes of play, but
Hoffman gave Broncos some add-
ed insurance with a third period
goal. Snell drew the assist on
Hoffman's goal.
Broncos have one more game
on the road Saturday in Dresden,
but they return to Exeter Sunday
to begin a four game home
