The annual meeting will be held
on Monday February 8, weather per-
mitting. There will be a pot -luck
supper at 6 p.m. which will be fol-
lowed by meeting at 8 p.m. Mark
this date on your calendar.
Choir practice is Wednesday even-
ing at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School
rooms.
Crediton and District Social Club
meeting is February 8 at 8:30 p.m.

Sympathy is extended to the fami-
lies of the late Gordon Bender. Mr.
Bender passed away Friday and was
buried Sunday. Mr. Bender was the
father of Lloyd Bender and his wife
Phillis.
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator
were Tuesday supper guests with
Mr. and Mrs. David Isaac and .Ta-
sha, Exeter, and Wednesday's dinner
guests with Mrs. Lorna Barnes and
Jenna Thedford.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Farr, St.
Thomas, were Sunday supper guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator.

WI meets
The January meeting of the Credi-
ton Women's Institute was held Jan-
uary 20 at Barb's Country Crafts.
Barb Passmore gave an interesting
talk about the craft courses available
and showed samples of several
crafts. The possibility of painting
your own design on silk was intri-
guing.
The program was arranged by Do-
lores Shapton and Alma Davey.
Four members had to forfeit 50 cent
fines for not wearing their Institute
pins. During the business meeting
conducted by President Eleanor
Roeszler plans were made to help
with the Sportsmen's Dinner.
Members were -reminded of the
celebration of the 90th anniversary
of the foundation of Womens' Insti-
tute which will be held in Seaforth
April 19.
In other business it was agreed to
send PRO Margaret McClure to the
Buddy Gilmour inducted
into racing Hall of Fame
William (Buddy) Gilmour, former
Lucan-Clandeboye native, was in-
ducte-d into the Canadian Horse Rac-
ing Hall of Fame Friday evening,
January 22, held at the Hilton Inter-
national in Windsor.
He was one of throe men and three
horses, honoured at this presenta-
tion.
Bud's aunt and uncle, Mary and
Wilmer Scott, of Clandeboye were
among the honoured guests at this
special occasion.
Women's Institute
Mrs. Arnold Lewis was hostess
for the January meeting of the
Clandeboye Women's Institute.
Twelve members answered the roll
call, "Name a Provincial Flower".
Betty Coughlin'acted as secretary-
. treasurer and several letters were
read, including thank you notes
from the Cancer Society and from
ICraigholme residents for their
Christmas remembrances. A letter
from the F.W.I.O., president, Mar-
garet Munro with greetings and in-
formation for the new year.
Mrs. Roy Cunningham, convener
of citizenship and legislation, gave
an interesting paper on the Haida
native group who won their battle
to preserve the South Morseby Is-
lands which are part of the Queen
Charlotte Islands. Also an article by
Martin Connell on the elimination
of poverty in Third World Coun-
tries.
She concluded her program with a
reading by Peter Truman, "A De-
scription of To -Day's Senior Citi-
zen" and a contest on "Hidden
Birds", which was won by Hazel
Williams. Elsie Lewis gave a read-
ing "A Man Must Want".

The 23rd annual meeting of the
Ontario Egg Producers' Marketing
Board will be held at the Airport
Marriott Hotel, Rexdale, Ontario on
March 15-16, 1988.
The annual zone meetings, for the
purpose of electing egg producing
committeemen and Directors, as
well as to discuss Board activities
and egg industry concerns, will be
held in all 13 zones of the province.
