Ridgetown dumps Generals
Exeter Generals fell behind 2-0 in
the first period of a playoff game
against Ridgetown Sunday and were
unable to recover. They lost the
OMHA CC Midget match 6-2.
Frank Wulterkens put Exeter on
the board in the second after goalie
Doug Kells fed him the puck. Wul-
terkens' goal gave Generals som
thing to work with but by the end
of the middle period, Exeter was
trailing 5-1.
The two teams matched goals in
the third. Rob Taylor potted Exet-
er's second goal after picking up a
pass from Jeff Chipchase and Gerald
Papple.
Taylor led the defensive effort of
the club while Steve Lingard played
well offensively.
Generals' game against Dresden
January 13 was cancelled due to bad
weather. Exeter hosts Forest tonight
(Jan. •20).
No "breaks" for Crunchers
Exeter Atom Crunchers turned in
a good performance against Watford
Grogan Atoms on the weekend, but
ended up on the short side of a 3-2
decision.
Crunchers played well both offen-
sively and defensively, but they
didn't get any "breaks" against a
tough Watford goalie.
Goalie Michael Schwindt, helped
out by excellent protection from
Crunchers defensive squad, made
several key saves against Watford.
Exeter took a 1-0 lead in the first
period after Geoff Hann scored from
Andrew Hem and Rob Wagner.
Crunchers increased their lead to
2-1 in the second on a goal by Wil-
ly Partridge. Hann drew the only as-
sist on the play,
Watford retaliated in the final peri-
od of the game, scoring two unan-
swered markers to secure a victory.

Midgets drop game three
By Sheila DougaIt
Thursday, the Midget boys bas-
ketball team suffered its third defeat
of regular season, at the hands of a
strong Stratford Northwestern team.
Unfortunately the boys did.not play
too well, perhaps still rusty from
the Christmas break.
The top scorer of the game for
South Huron was David Schwindt
with 10 points.
In the Juniors game, South Huron
was again defeated by Northwestern
32-27. Top scorer for South Huron
was Dave O'Connor with eight
points. Also scoring were Doug
Clark, and Jason Clarke with six
points each, Herten Tinney with
four and Ian Verbeek with three.
The Juniors play in a tournament
on Saturday and the last league
game before exams is January 19 in
Seaforth.
In the Panther Hockey Game
Tuesday, South Huron was defeated
by Clinton 6-4. Scoring for South
Huron were Jerry Lamport,, Scott
ell, Jim Dickens and Shawn.
Moore.
The team travels to Wingham Fri-
day.

$500 MILLION STRONG. AND
POSITIONED FOR TOMORROW.
Industrial Horizon Fund was launched just a year ago.. -
Its public offering was the largest in Canadian -mutual fund
• history. Today, the fund's assets are nearIN,' $500 Million. And
sales are strong.
Prior to the October 19, 1987 decline, nude than 70'4othe

assets.• .
That was good for the people who bought an Industrial
Horizon Fund RRSP lastyear, because they were well protected
against the market decline:
-But it's also good 'firr this year's RRSP-investors. Because
over the past few .months; the managers at Mackenzie Financial
have been .able to purchase quality investments at what they
believe are excellent prices. .
_ --In fact. Mackenzie believes Industrial Horizon-h'und is in an
ideal position to capitalize on an -upswing for the right stocks

To put it another way, with no acquisition fee; Vi 111 can invest
