In Canada, however, the Week of Prayer.for Christian Unity is being observed this year from Jan- uary 24 to 31. For a few years, the churches in Mitchell cooperated in hosting a special service to pray for Christian unity. Three years ago, other church- es in the Mitchell area began to par- ticipate in this observance. Since then services have been held in St. Brigid's Church, Kcnnicott, in St. Peter's Church, Brodhagen and in Knox Church Mitchell. This year the service of prayer for Christian unity will be held in Woodham United Church, with the Rev. Bill Jones as host pastor. The service will be held on Sunday Janu- ary 24 at 8 p.m. under the theme, ""Love of God Casts Out Fear". A number of pastors from the Kirkton, Mitchell and Monkton are- as will be participating in the ser- vice, with the Rev. Stanley Jay of Mitchell bringing a special message.
