Teddy Smits was in charge of, the regular church service on Sunday mdrning. The children's story dealt with the dream of a lady who was very rich. She dreamed that she came to Heaven. At the gate St. Peter met her and simply said: Follow me. They came to a nice house and stopped for a brief moment. She asked: "Who lives there?" St. Peter replied "You know him, he is your carpenter." The lady was almost mad when she said' "Such a nice and big house for him, while he had only a little house in the world". Then they came to a small little house, enough for one person, but not big. The lady asked "Who lives, here?. St. Peter replied "That's your house." The lady was really mad and said "In the world I had a big house, many rooms, I cannot live in such a small place". St. Peter shrugged his shoulders and said "Sony lady, we could not build anything bigger with the little bit of material you sent up In the sermon Rev. Smits took as his text St. Luke 2:49 "How is it that you sought. nie?" One of the real moments of crisis in the life of many a parent is the time when a teenager decides that he or she is no longer going along with the par- ents, but will try another path. Many parents fear they have lost their young offspring. Mary and Joseph lived with that crisis at the time of the confirma- tion ceremony of Jesus, which was held in the temple. Soon ,thereafter Joseph and Mary left with the dele- gation from Nazareth. It was only in the evening that both Joseph and Mary discovered that Jesus was not in the group. • They went back to Jerusalem, and they did not find Jesus until the third day. What hurt Mary the most was the fact that Jesus was not in the least bit anxious that he had stayed in Jerusalem while his par- ents had gone. Jesus replied: "Why is it that you sought me? Don't you know I want to be in my Father's house?" - Centralia by Mrs. Tom Kooy Sunday January 10 the service at theUnited.Church celebrated the baptism of Jesus and used the John Wesley's Convenant Service in which the congregation received their personal commitment to Christ.
