12:08. Denomy drew an assist on
the play.
It was Denomy who scored the
last twb Irish goals, finding the
mark at 13:21 from Craig and
Barnes and then scoring again with
just 23 seconds left in the game
from Barnes.
Mitchell managed a final goal at
18:46 when Mike Murphy put the
puck in the net, but the gap had
grown too large by that time.
Irish next see action Wednesday
night when they meet Thedford at
8:15 p.m. in the Lucan arena. Sat-
urday they are in Mount Brydges for
an 8 p.m. start.

As if they were toying with Clin-
ton Fridayllight, Hawks fell behind
1-0 going into the second period,
but the lull didn't last more than
3:40 into the middle period before
Exeter opened the flood gates and
blew Clinton off the ice.
Singer recorded a four goal night
with three assists to ice the cake.
Lovie scored first for Exeter, from
Steve Gould. Singer pumped in two
at 4:59 and 11:07 and then goals
followed from Jeff Pfaff, Bogart and
Singer.
Sean Whiteford made sure Hawks
didn't lose their momentum in the
third. He scored at 1:20 and 5:18 to
make the score 8-1.
Jeff Ansems potted an unassisted
marker at 6:16 and then a power
play goal by Bogart and a short
handed goal by Slater increased the -
lead by two.
Singer, Pfaff and Lovie finished
the scoring.
Both Clinton goals were scored
by Marc Clausius.
Hawks 12 - Seaforth 2
Hawks found themselves locked
in a 1-1 tie after the first period
Sunday night against Seaforth, but
six goals in the second and five
more in the third turned the game
into a rout.
Ansems opened the scoring at
16:31 of the first after he was set up
by Slater and Pfaff.
Seaforth answered that at 18:36
when Mike Betties found the mark.
Just 1:22 into the second, Mark
Morrissey punched in a shot from
Bogart.
At 8:21 Singer scored unassisted.
Casey, Gould, Ansems and Pfaff
all put the puck in the net in the
second.
Third period goals were scored by
Lewis (just 30 seconds into the per-
iod), O'Connor, Gould, Pfaff and
Bill Fisher.
Seaforth scored their second goal
of the game at 12:02 of the third
when Brad Carter put the puck in
the net from Mike Bettles and Terry
Pugh.

Welland, Brooklin win Lucan Cup
Teams from Welland and Brooklin
won the two championships in the
eighth annual Lucan Cup Challenge
held on the weekend at the Lucan
Community Centre.
Captain Don Edwarson of Groulx
Sports of Welland received the Lu -
can Cup trophy from Ron Peters af-
ter his club won four straight
games. The Welland team also took
home $3,500 in cash.
Welland defeated a strong Tecum-
seh club in the final by a 7-4 score.
The runnerup prize was $1,200.
Rieve Norm Steeper and deputy -
reeve Harry Wraith presented the
village of Lucan trophy to Brooklin
Flyers captain Gary Wilson as 'B'
champions after defeating Allied of
Detroit 7-5 in the final.
Welland captain Don Edwarson
started slowly with one goal in the
opening 6-5 win over O'Leary,
Michigan; notched a pair as his club
beat International Stick 5-1; fired
three succressful shots in a semi-
final win over London Crossman
and four more in the final.
The Tecumseh club reached the

Campbell scores seven goals
Exeter Lincoln Joel Campbell
couldn't miss Saturday when his
team came up against Parkhill and
beat them 7-6 in Lambton-
Middlesex Bantam action.
Campbell scored all seven Exeter
goals and all but one of them were
unassisted.
Campbell gave Lincolns the lead
just under two minutes into the first
period. Parkhill tied the game with
3:08 remaining and the two teams
entered the second in a 1-1 deadlock.
Parkhill punched in two quick
goals early in the second.
At 6:48, Campbell connected
with Derck Beckett to score, bring-
ing Exeter within one goal of a tie,
but Parkhill opened up the last five
minutes of the second with two
more goals.
With three minutes left in the
middle period, Campbell scored his
third of the game, unassisted.
Parkhill answered that goal just
six seconds later and then, not to be
out -done, Campbell pumped in an-
other goal 26 seconds after that.
In the third, three.more goals by
Campbell, spaced out throughout
the period, gave Exeter the tie and
then the win.

Bell Atoms lose to Lucan
Exeter Bell Atoms went down to
defeat at the hands of Lucan Atom
B's Saturday when they were out-
scored 7-3.
The score, however, doesn't indi-
cate the quality of play. Strong de-
fensive efforts were made for Exeter
by Bart Harmon and Adam Wallis.
The two teams fought to a 2-2 tie
in the first period. Lucan's Denton
Hackney opened the scoring just 57
seconds into. the game when he
scored from Daryl Boshart and Julie
Carroll.
Bell Atoms were quick to answer.
Ted Hoffman pumped in a shot
from Steve Cook at 2:03 to tie the
game and then Jason Clay scored at
4:04 from Brent Urlin and Hoffman
to put Exeter in front.
Lucan managed to tie the game
before the period was over when

J.B. Mason scored from Doug
McGregor with just 19 seconds left
in the first.
Lucan scored the only two goals
of the second period. At 4:18,
McGregor scored from Mason and
Boshart. Hackney followed that
with an unassisted goal at 5:21.
Lucan continued to drive in the
third when Hackney found the mark
again, this time from Carroll.
Mason added a goal at 7:12 from
McGregor and Boshart.
At 9:49, Urlin made a reply for
Bell Atoms, scoring on a pass from
Ben Guenther.
Lucan finished the scoring when
Boshart pumped in an unassisted
marker at 10:32.

day in Exeter at 5 p.m. when they
meet Parkhill Jets.
