"A.B.C. of cooking vegetables" was the topic in our books, explaining techniques of boil- ing, canning, microwaving, steaming, and stir -frying. Later on in the evening vegetables were cooked using all techniques and a taste test was held to see which method we liked the best. Everybody had their own preference, however, so we couldn't rate one any better than the other. In the stir -frying we put in carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms and Beef show, sale coming up For the past seven years, 4-11 members from Huron and Bi'uce Counties have made their Thanksgiv- ing Day .4-11 Beef Show and Sale a growing tradition. This year over 70 young people will be showing and sell- ing their 4-11 beef calves, up from the 59 participants in 1986. Last year ' Dean Ribey sold his grand champion calf to Tri -County Livestock -for $1.33/Ib. The 1987 sale will be held October 12 with the show at 10:30 a.m. and the sale at 1:00 pm. sharp. Brussels Stockyards Limited is again providing the facilities for the sale. The success of the sale is due to the tremendous support the community gives to it. Everyone wins - the buyers soon have top quality beef in their freezers, and the 4-11 members have a few extra dollars in their pockets, and some enthusiasm for next year. Sale catalogues are available at either the Bruce or Huron County 0MAF office. Call 235-1331 Two Bedroom Apt. For Rent ideal for newlywed or retired couple.
