Softer wind-up held
The executive of the Exeter soccer
club could not have picked a better
day to hold their annual soccer win-
dup this past Sunday at the Bee Cen-
tre facilities.
More than 400 parents and kids took
part in the afternoon event.
After an hour of soccer games bet-
ween parents and children, everyone
gathered at the rec centre for the
awards presentation and a potluck
supper.
In his opening words, president
Martin DeBruyn introduced and
thanked the members of the ex-
ecutive. the referees and the sponsors
without whom he said, the past season
could not have been as successful as
it was.
The coaches Were introduced as the
teams came up to receive their
awards and in turn, the coaches were
rewarded by the kids with gifts for
their dedication.
President DeBruyn presented gifts
to Mike Cregan and Simon and Lin-
da van Dam as a token of apprecia-
tion for all they have done as coaches
and executive members ove the past
8-10 years. Both Cregan and Simon
vanDam are moving to different
towns.

The recipients were Simon and Lin:
da van Dam. The award represents
sportsmanship and dedication shown
to the game of soccer in Exeter and
area. The award was presented by
last year's winner, John Rasenberg.
DeBruyn closed of the ceremonies
with a plea for more involvement by
parents in coaching and executive
positions.
The annual meeting for the Exeter
soccer club will be held October Mat
