T -A photo Injuries take toll on Express Injuries have cost Exeter Express dearly in their last two regular season games. Missing three pitchers from the line-up due to arm and shoulder in- juries, seniors have dropped games to Strathroy and Seaforth in the Great Lakes senior baseball league. Express came up against Strathroy Sunday, losing 11-2 despite a promis- ing first inning. Exeter went up 2-0 in the first after Dave Shaw hit an RBI single to bring in Walt Parkinson. Kevin Drager then singled to bring in Shaw and Exeter had a good lead. Jeff Fuller, on the mound for Ex- press, struck out the first two batters that he based and handled the third to protect the lead in the bottom of the first. But that was all Exeter could muster offensively and their defen- sive play began to slip in the second. Strathroy scored their first run in the bottom of the second and then plated two runs in the third to take a 3-2 lead. Exeter was unable to stem the flow and Strathroy claimed runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings, making the score 7-2 in their favour. Mike Neil replaced Fuller in the sixth inning, slowing Strathroy's pace until the ninth inning when they scored five runs, three of them on er- rors. Fuller allowed five hits, struck out four and walked four. Neil shared the mound in the ninth with Gilmour and Shaw. They combined to allow 10 hits, striking out one and walking five.
