Elly and Rick Powell. the old Moulin
Rouge Restaurant has been
transformed into a -cool gray, trellis
trimmed. .oasis .of greenery on a
tropical theme. The luncheon menu of
quiche and salad was a winner and
the anticipated entertainment policy

in Grand Bend this summer.
The show opened with the models
wearing cool and easy cotton knits,
featuring loose coulotte style above
the knee skirts with easy fitting mat-
ching tops - designed to be dressy
enough for city streets but relaxed
enough to take you camping or to the
beach. These are available at Perry
0, Queen St., mall in the Bend.

at the foot of Main Street has the latest in swimwear fashions ready for a Lake Huron summer. Models

The Grand Bend Cancer campaign
had another successful year. The total
collected door-to-door was $3299.50 for
the Lambton Unit. Special thanks to

Rehearsals begin
for season opener
• The e's plenty of hustle and bustle
at the Huron Country Playhouse as
the first week of rehearsals get under-
way for the season opener Babes in
Arms.
About 18 outstanding Canadian per-
formers have gathered at the
Playhouse to produce Rodgers' and
Hart's comedy musical. Artistic
Director Stemen Schipper says, "The,
work of any theatre company is
always a reflection of the people who
collaborate in its creation, and we are

many of the country's Finest talents
working here. What's particularly ex-
citing about this summer are all the
young budding stars taking part in
Babes in Arms. Their energy per-
vades the Playhouse."
Among these, Theresa Stewart.
"Annie" returns in an entirely dif-
ferent role. Audiences will enjoy the
terrific talent that these young people
will provide.
In addition, music and dance
rehearsals are starting to take shape.
Musical Director. Michael Mulrooney
says, "The entire team at the
Playhouse is capable of producing
brilliant, breathtaking theatre. I'm
sure our audience will be thrilled
when they see Babes in Arms."
Behind the scenes crew are busy
building sets, making costumes and
gathering props, making for lots of
excitement at the Playhouse.

Besides organizing their annual
garage sale, the Grand Bend Firemen
were kept busy with two calls last
week. A tractor at Harvey Walper's
farm, RR 3 Parkhill, caught fire and
also a tractor owned by Tony Mennen
was pushed outside the shed and ex-
tinguished, at RR 2 Grand Bend.
Anyone wishing to join Weight
Watchers, weigh-in is at 6:30 p.m.
on Tuesday evenings, at the Southcott
Pines clubhouse.
Don't be too hard on our policitians.
Many of them are doing the work of
two men- Laurel and Hardy.
