Lucie Milne of Mitchell was a guest
at the June meeting of the Marian Rit-
chie W.M.S. and showed a film strip
on the development of Christianity in
Nepal. Pakistan, Sri Lanka,
Bangladesh, and India. The film strip
was made from slides taken by
several missionaries who had work-
ed there including the Milnes.
It showed how the Christian
message was developed through
health care and education, also the
early Presbyerian missionaries, and
the other religions there. Christiani-
ty was the first religion to teach them
to care for anyone outside their own
circle. -
In the question period following,
Mrs. Milne said that when they first
went to northern India they felt quite
safe, but when they left, eleven years
later and from a more southern part,
travel, etc. was rather scarey.
Doris Miller opened the meeting
with a poem. Before Us, the Future.

Fun Fair
- The Annual Fun Fair at East
William was held Thursday night in
Nairn. Rain threatened to dampen the
fun but wouldn't have really made too
much difference to the group in the
wet sponge toss.
Teachers one by one came up to
receive their punishment from pupils
buying wet filled sponges to throw at
them.
One teacher or was it a principal
thought he could buy an easy round
if he offered extra marks on exams if
they would miss him, but the offer
didn't work. Some of the other events
happening was cake walk, fishing
pond, clown face make up, and others

School meeting June 15 the events'
funds will be calculated.
