Roofing jobs planned in Huron schools
More than $805,000 in government

Everyone loves a party, and the
directors of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture are no ex-
ception -They are inviting everyone to
their celebration of the 50th anniver-
sary of the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture.
When the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture was formed in 1936,11 was
called. The Ontario Chamber of
Agriculture. In 1940, the name was
changed, but what has never chang-
ed is the mandate of the organization
itself.
Paul Klopp of Varna, president of
Huron County federation, says that
the organization has made major im-
provements in farming conditions in
Ontario, -virtually every farm pro-
gram in the past 50 years, he adds.

OFA president who has researched
the history of the. Huron County
Federation of Agriculture, reports

The people of Varna and Goshen
are celebrating a baby in the manse.

in residence here. Jordan Joseph was
born on June 3 to Rev. Sam and Bar-
bara Ann Parker. -
Student exchange -
Kirsta McAsh has been accepted in
the Quebec Ontario student ex-
change this year. and will be spending
two weeks with a family in -Quebec in
July. Her Quebec hostess will then
visit here with Krista.
Back for summer
We're happy to have- Alan and
Audrey Remington back with us for
the summer in the former Marie
Beatty home. They have been busy
with renovations and renewing
friendships.
Swim prdgram
The Stanley Township Recreation
swim program is taking place from
July 13 to 24. As usual, a bus will pick
up the children at the park in Varna
and at the corner in Brucefield. For

registration is July 1.

the June meeting of Varna U.C.W.
with a reading "God is Like" and
prayer. The secretary and treasurer's
reports were read, and thank you
notes from Brian and Nicole Chessell,
Mary Reid, Leisa Stephenson and
Rev. Sam and Barbara Ann Parker
were read by corresponding
secretary Deb Rathwell.
The ladies made a crib quilt for the
Parker's expected baby, and Brian.

readings -Time Out" and "A Vaca-
tion for God or from God''".
Carol Simons' topic was stress. why
we suffer stress, the many ways it af-
fects us physically. and how to cope
with it. Our bodies are designed -to
handle the "fight or flight" problems
of early man, and have difficulty with
modern stress. She recommended the .
book "The Joy of Stress". Know when
you are stressed and what to do about
it. Relax, change gears. do something
different, exercise, eat properly. have
a sense of humour: set goals. prepare
ahead of time for work. and get
enough sleep. Financial security and
a stable home life are important. and
take God with you wherever you go.
