habits and our own fears. Take a leap
of faith, and untie each knot as it
comes along, for the real danger isn't
in failure, but in being afraid to try.

The South Huron District Associa-
tion for the Mentally. Handicapped
held its 19th annual meeting on Thurs-
day in the South Huron Recreation
Centre.
The Crediton Women's Institute
catered a delicious banquet of roast
beef with all the trimmings to a
hungry crowd of about 200 association
members and friends.
Association president Victor Knip
welcomed everyone and Rev: Henry
Van Essen said the grace before the
meal.
A special presentation.was made to
Yvonne and Earl Dietrich of -Earl's
Taxi Service. Centralia, for 19 years
of tender loving care in transporting.

na Greb paid tribute to their dedica-

four times to its present location at
McCurdy Public School.
Because the nursery school will be
closed at the end of June, Yvonne and
Earl are finally out of a job. Board
member Myra Lovell presented them
with an engraved plaque with a big
thank you for a job well done from the
association members, parents. and
children. •

Summer reading programs will be
starting soon at a branch of the Mid-
dlesex County Library near you.
Elementary school children can
register at the beginning of the sum-
mer and, as they read books and
report on them to their librarian they
can earn bookmarks, colouring
sheets, buttons, and certificates.
. They symbol this year is a rat
chewing up a book, inviting children
to "Gobble up Reading". This is a free
program sponsored by the Middlesex
County Library. Elementary school
children are encouraged to visit their
local library, enjoy summer reading,
and earn prizes throughout the
summer.
Certain program details may vary
at individual branches. Participate at
a branch library near you in Lucan.

People First Group and other local
associations successfully lobbied to
have the name "Ontario Association
for the Mentally (Handicapped"
changed to "Ontario Association for
,Community Living". The announce-
ment was greeted with enthusiastic
applause.

troduced the guest speaker for the
evening, Norman Kunc, who has an
honours degree in philosophy and
religious studies. at York University
and a masters degree in marriage
and family therapy at Guelph. He is
the author of the book "Ready, Will-
ing and Disabled," and is a marriage
