The annual congregatibnal meeting
will take place on Sunday February
22. It will be held after a pot luck
lunch of sandwiches, cookies, etc. The.
lunch will follow the church service.

attend this important event .•
St. Andrews is going to have a
toboggan party on Sunday afternoon.

'!Cr. and Drive for 214 miles. After
tobogganing everyone is welcome
back to church for hot dogs and hot
chocolate and dessert. Please note
each -family is to supplytheir own hot
dogs and dessert, the hot chocolate
will be supplied by the Sunday School.

On Tuesday, February 10, Mildred
MacGregor opened the meeting with
a Valentine's poem. Frances
Kinsman had the worship with the
theme on stewardship and love: Helen
MacLean based her topic on steward-
ship and explained what happens to -
the M and S funds when they leave
our local church.
The topic was concluded with a skit
entitled "It's got a Ring to It". Mabel
Kyle, Pat Love and Ilelen MacLean
were the cast. Mary Broadfoot ac-
companied the hymns on the piano.
Pat Love and Lauren Love were the
hostesses. Lunch followed the
meeting.
The roll call was to be answered by
bringing a treat for Queensway. The
UCW group entertained the residents
of Queensway at Bingo -

Al and Margaret Iloggarth paid a
visit -to their daughter Janet in Lon-
don on Sunday February 15. Janet
was unable to get home to Kippen for
several weekends because of exams
and the inclement weather.

DDGM pays
The I.O.O.F. of Hensall held their
regular meeting on February 5 with
an official visit by District Deputy
Grand Master Fred Delbridge who
gave an inspiring message.
Following the business a delicious
lunch was served. The next meeting
will be Thursday March 5. An O.P.P.
officer will visit to speak about
breathalizer tests.
Special meeting
There will be a special meeting at
the Nursery School next Tuesday
evening, February 24. There will be
guest speakers dealing with the
theme "The Transitions from N.S. to
Kindergarten". Everyone is
welcome.
The HensaU Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment will be holding a euchre tourna-
ment this Saturday February 21 at
12:30 p.m. in the Fire'Hall. You may
enter as an individual or team and
everyone is welcome.

We've had the pleasure at
Queensway of welcoming the senior
students from the Hensall Public
School who are taking part in our ac-
tivities during the month of February.
We look forward to their participa-
tion, and truly hope they enjoy
themselves as well as gain an

tance to everyone.
Monday, was once again time for
bingo. This month we have the
pleasure of having the Kippen United
Church group in to run the February
bingos. Thanks ladies, you're doing a
super job.
Tuesday afternoon brought us to
our weekly church service. This week
we had the pleasure of welcoming
es into our home—and
presented to us a beautiful service.
Reverend Aloes was accompanied by
Gerti Fleischauer who played
beautifully.
Our Wednesday began with our
favourite activity - excerising. We
can't think of a better way to wake
up! Then in the afternoon our Aux-
-iliary held -a luncheom meeting at
Queensway for the month of
February. Remember, if you would
like to become a member, just give us
a call and we'd be happy to answer
any questions.
Thursday evening we were very
lucky to welcome two super groups in-
to our home. The first one was the
Presbyterian Church ladies who
visited with us. We would like to thank
• Marilyn Campbell, Pat Pollock, Jan
Baker, Bev Moir, Lola Nixon, Marg
Baker, Erlene Stewart for coming to
see us. The second group we'd like to
thank would be the Beavers. We en-
joyed listening to them entertain with
several songs. Between these two
groups, one couldn't help but have a ,
terrific evening.
Friday afternoon we had Fun and
Games Hour where we played several
games i.e.; euchre, shuffleboard,
checkers etc. It was a super hour of
games and fun.
Saturday. February 14, was a fan-
tastic day at Queensway! We
celebrated Valentines Day with style
with a super dance. The Huron
Strings came in to entertain us with
their special style of music. We had
a super heart shaped cake made by
our dietary staff and it was delicious.
We'd like.to thank the members of the
auxiliary for coming in and helping -
out. The whole afternoon was very en-
joyable, a perfect way to celebrate
Valentines Day!

Seniors meet
• The Three Links Seniors held their
regular meeting February 10 with a
good attendance. They were welcom-
ed by president Aldeen Volland.
The annual rally will be held at the
Dashwood community centre on April
7. The Three Links will sponsor a
euchre on February 24 at 8 p.m. in the
club rooms. Would the ladies please
bring lunch. Everyone is welcome.

Canada Day Poster Contest
The Department of the Secretary of
State is sponsoring a poster contest to
commemorate the 40th anniversary
of Canadian citizenship. The prize is
an all expense paid trip to Ottawa for
the winner and family on July 1
The theme of the contest is -What
It Means To Be A Canadian". -
The rules are: every Canadian
citizen can enter. Only one entry per
person. Posters should be 15 inches by

Hensall-Tyke Hockey team won
against Zurich on Saturday. The final
score was5-4 with Mark Bell scoring
all five Hensall goals.. The Hensall

OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND
ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENTS
AFFECTING THE VILLAGE OF HENSALL
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of fhe Corporation of the County of Huron will hold a public meeting
to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act and the
Council of the Corporation of the Village of Hensall will hold a public meeting to consider two
proposed Zoning By-law Amendments under Section 34 of the Planning Act. on Tuesday March
24th, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. upstairs in the Hensall Arena.
The proposed Official Plan Amendment would change the designation on Park Lot 13. Registered
PIan269, Lots 51-54, Registered Plan 266 and Part Lots 196-197, Registered Plan 265 from In
dustrial to Residential. A proposed zoning by-law amendment would change the zoning on this
same property from M1 - Light Industrial to R3 - High Density Residential. This designation and
zoning change would permit the establishment of apartment buildings on the subject lands.
A second zoning by -low amendment will also be considered. The proposed zoning amendment
would change the zonin on Part Lots 55"; 56 and 57; -Registered Wan 266 from R2 - Medium
Density Residential to R3 High Density Residential. The proposed zoning would permit the
development of the property for multiple attached dwellings or apartments.
In addition to these development proposals, the Council of the Village of Hensall are looking
into the development potential of the northwest corner of the village. If you ore interested in
this matter please plan to attend.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either
in support of or in opposition to the proposed official plan or zoning by-law amendments. -
