Dashwood Friedsburg Committee
has met twice this month. The com-
mittee is looking ahead to the 1987
Friedsburg and are planning some
new activities and events. If anyone
is interested in helping or has any sug-
gestions, feel free to attend the next
meeting February 17, 8 p.ln.,

The parable of the blind man was
featured during bible study. A skit
"Light of the World" with Cynthia
Pym, Janet Coward, Sandra Rowe,
Kay Grubb, Marie Brock, Ruth Skin-
ner, Liz Taylor and Marjorie Johns
taking part portrayed the parable.
Mrs. Brian Pym read a poem, "God
Grant us Hope, Faith and Love." A
game of Trivial Pursuit on the New
Testament followed. This proved to be
informative as well as enjoyable.
President Mrs. Larry Lynn, open-
ed the business meeting by repeating
the purpose of the United Church
Women. She read a short story "My
mom hates me in January".
The roll call was answered by
"Naming a parable in the Bible." We
are all encouraged to save our used
postage stamps. United Church
Women Sunday will be held May 24 at
which time the members will conduct
the service and also celebrate the 25th
anniversary of United Church
Women. •
It was decided that each person
baptized, confirmed or married from
the congregation would receive a gift
from the United Church Women.
Members will enter an exhibit at
Exeter Fair. Mrs. Floyd Cooper read

Friday, the young l'eople will be
going to the Pinery for a toboggan and •
skating party. As in the past, we also
invite the families and others who
may be interested in corning along for
an evening of fun.
We will meet al the Church at 7
p.m. and go hack to the park once
rides have been arranged. If you are
interested in, coming along, please
contact Rev. Elder. as we need to
have some idea on the number going.
The annual meeting will be held on
Monday February 16. There will be a
pot -luck supper at 6 p.m., which will
be followed by the meeting at 8 p.m.

Pym received her life membership
pin for the United Church Women at
this meeting. Congratulations Grace.
We're all proud of you. We will be
catering to the Co-op annual banquet
in November. The meeting closed
with the benediction, followed by a
social time.
The Elimville congregation held
their annual meeting Sunday with a
very good number in attendance.
After singing "Johnny Appleseed"
everyone enjoyed a bountiful pot luck
dinner. •
Rev. Bob Matheson opened the
meeting with prayer. Rev. Matheson
was named chairman and Mrs.
Howard Pym secretary.
AH the reports were reviewed, with
any questions being answered. It was
decided to get Bibles for the pews
upstairs and curtains for the front fo
thechoir loftwith the funds in the
"memorial fund.
The following people were named to
the following positions: John Batten
reappointed to the session; Larry
Fulton and Michael Elford were reap-
pointed to the Board of Management;
Larry Lynn was appointed to 'the
same board - also appointed to this
board to represent the United Church
Women were Mrs. Gerry Grubb and
Mrs. Dale Skinner.
Ron Elford was reappointed to the
cemetery board; Ruth Skinner as the
Mission and Service treasurer; Mrs.
Gerry Grubb as Observer secretary.
Mrs. Philip Johns was named
representative to presbytery with
John Batten as our alternate. The
auditors will be Mrs. Larry Lynn and
Mrs. Gerald Johns. Named to the
pastoral relation committee were
Joan Cooper, Mrs. Brian Pym and
Delmar Skinner.

was held in the church basemen(
commencing with a pot luck supper.
After -enjoying a delicious supper..
Mrs. -Bill Spence ted in a sing song,
Mrs. Ellis Strahan gave a reading "-A
Dieter's Prayer" and everyone en-
joyed contests conducted by Mrs.
Spence and Mrs. 'l'ed Brine.
UCW president Jean Copeland
opened the business -with a reading "A
Thought for the New Year". She
reminded everyone to bring. used
-greeting cards to the February
meeting also a Valentine card for -
exchange.
The President -explained the logo
.for the 25th anniversary df the UCW.
The annual reports of the treasurer
and secretary were given and the
recommendations for 1987 were
'approved.
Mrs. Ross McCurdy .asked
everyone to bring articles for the bale
to be sent in May.
