K of C s collecting for Uganda
Bishop Sherlock has approved of a
collection of light blankets and clothes
for the needy and poor in Uganda. The
K of C council of St. Boniface parish
will be in charge of this very wor-
thwhile project. Anyone with a dona-
tion can contact Karl Regier, Doug
DeBus or Harry Pennings before
January 22.
Card parties
- The Seaforth K of C Council are
starting their annual winter euchre
parties on Friday, January 16 at 8
p.m. for 10 consecutive weeks at the
Knights of Columbus hall in St. Col-
umban. A light lunch is served after-
wards. Everyone is welcome
Tickets are still available on a trip
for "Two to Las Vegas" which will be
drawn on February 19 and are
available from any K of C member.
Proceeds will go to charitable work.
Auxiliary meets
The January meeting of the Ladies'
Auxiliary to the Blue Water Res(
Home was held last Tuesday with a
good attendance and good weather.
The installation of officers was con-
ducted by Fr. Mooney with the new
president Mary -Lou Erb installed for
the next two year term. Past presi-
dent Marie Gelinas Sr. was thanked
for doing such a good job while presi-
dent. She received a Past President's
pin in appreciation for her many
hours of hard work, time and
patience.
Instead of having to buy two new
large tablecloths to be used in the din-
ingroom for special occasions, dona-
tions were made by Blanche Bechard
and Beryl Hogg, which were greatly
appreciated.
The quilt is now set up at the home
in the lounge at the apartment end of -
the building.
The next meeting will be on
February 3 at 7:00 p.m. when we will
be celebrating 20 years as an aux-
iliary to the home.
The monthly birthday party will be
held on February 17 with the CWL of
St. Boniface in charge of'f�l e program
and lunch. Everyone is welcome to at-
tend these events.
Seniors bowling
Last Thursday afternoon the senior
citizens enjoyed their weekly bowling
games at the local alleys from 2 to 4
p.m. Several January birthdays were
mentioned, and everyone was treated
to cupcakes by Gertie Fleischauer.
Those celebrating birthdays were:
Harvey Bohner on January 7, Gertie
on the 9th, Frieda Moore on the 16th,
Greta Rtestemayer on January 29 and
Annie Finkbeiner on the 5th.
Bingo winners
The lucky bingo winners last Thurs-
day were: Elaine Josling from Clin-
ton who won the jackpot worth $1,000
and a lady from Goderich who got the
mystery prize of $225. Several hams
were also won. Members of the Minor
Athletic Association helped out at this
one.
Personals
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
are extended to Mary -Lou Denomme
who had the misfortune of slipping
and falling on a patch of ice last
Thursday and as a result is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital with a broken
leg in a cast.
George Grenier is a patient in Ex-
eter Hospital and Joe Denomme is
home recuperating.
Mrs. John (Connie) Minderleln is a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
A little family gal. -together was held
at the apt. of Bill and Cheryl Pole on
Sunday in honor of their son Brian's
fourth birthday anti her sister Patti
Rau's January 15 b' thday.

Digou in London last Saturday.
A nice four-month vacation was had
by Gen Doyle as she was away since
September and returned home safe
and sound over the weekend. She
spent two months visiting with her
daughter Patricia Knatt in Sundre
Alberta and also saw friends in Ed-
monton and Calgary. She then spent
two months with a son, Leo Zimmer,
in Coquitlam, British Columbia and
while there went to Vancouver Island
and Ladysmith B.C., where she visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Willert.
Congratulations to Mike and Wen-
dy Masse (nee Meidinger) on the ar-
rival of twin daughters Ashley and
Allison.
Ilarvey and Mary Clausius recent-
ly spent, a week in Detroit visiting
with Don and Shirley Bedard and
family.
