News from
Revival • Centre
Rev. Roger Mason conducted the
Sunday morning service. Rev. Mason
led the song service accompanied by
Mr. Doug Butler playing his electric
keyboard. Rev. Mason spoke from
Exodus 3: and 4. This records God
speaking to Moses from the burning
bush that did not burn up. God was
calling Moses to lead his people out of
bondage in Egypt.
Moses, like us, rationalized with
God on why he was not qualified to do
what Gpd asked him to do. This is
disobedience to God. If we want to be
used by God, we must be willing to
take risks for God in faith.
First Moses asked "Who am I"?
Moses was still living with the failure
of forty years before of trying to help
the Hebrews. Moses was afraid of tak-
ing the risk of helping his people. God
assured Moses He would help him.
Then Moses told God he feared the
Hebrews would not believe God had
sent him. God gave Moses signs of
power to use so the people would
believe.
Accompanied by Doug Butler play-
ing his electric keyboard, Rev. Roger
Mason led in worship singing. Sunday
evening, Rev. Mason, from Mark
1:40-45, spoke about healing. Biblical
leprosy included any kind of skin
disorder. Lepers had to be isolated,
and were ostracised by others. This
leper sought out Jesus for healing.
To be healed, a person must want
to be healed, as this leper did. Com-
ing to Jesus, he took a risk coming in-
to a city, and contacting Jesus.
Lepers were required to cry unclean,
and stay a certain distance from peo-
ple. This leper was convinced Jesus
could heal him. He beseeched Jesus,
kneeling in submission.

verted passes from Glen Thurman
and Bob Brown.

At UntCdi Church
The first Sunday of the Ne•A,
speaks of exciting times to come. At
the Lucan United Church Rev. Dar-
rell Shaule in his opening remarks,
told us not to be afraid of the unknown
future but to live for God and He will
make our lives exciting and
meaningful.
In this year we celebrateour 125th
anniversary. We are blessed with a
leader, who is an "unlimited possibili-
ty thinker". There is now way to go
but "up" or possibly "out" or maybe
both depending on the Lord's
direction.
This will be an interesting church
to watch this coming year and just
maybe you would like to be a part of
this adventure. There is room for
everybody.
Pastor Shaule's children's story
was about a battery. You know what
a battery is. It's that very necessary
item that is never included in

The sermon taken from Ezekiel
33:1-11, first Cor.12:12-31, Luke
6:46-49. Ezekiel was a prophet and a
spiritual watchman who was to call
the people back to the Lord. In order
to do this same job as Christians we
must first know Him in a real and
powerful way.
One cannot speak of someone
unless one has a personal knowledge
of that person and has the right heart
to be a watchman. Second, talk the
talk of a Christian and walk the walk.
Third, God gave each of us, without
exception, a special gift so that we
can serve Him better in 1987.
The service came to a close with the
singing of Take My Life and Let It Be.

to the advertisers of
Exeter and surrounding
communities
We are now into 1987 and yvant to say "Thank You". It is only
fitting that we advertise our appreciation to thepeople who make
it possible for us to publish one of the best community newspapers
in the area. In 1986 hundreds of adverti ers, retailers, classified
and national advertisers used frequent and consistent space in
the Times -Advocate, stimulating our economy and promoting
employment. You, our readers responded by buying food,
clothing, shoes, TVs, sound equipment, paint, lumber,
microwaves, books, houses, farm machinery, sports equipment,
jewellery, yard goods... the list is endless. We enter 1987 with
great confidence that this area will enjoy greater prosperity and
we look forward to the role our newspaper and its advertisers
play in the economic growth. Once again "Thank You': We believe
1986 was a prosperous and good year....
