Dave and Melissa Beer and two
children from Ottawa are presently
spending the holiday season (now till
New Years) with their parents and
families, Lillian Beer in Hensall and
Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. in
Zurich.
Dan and Carrie Eybergen and two
daughters from Waterloo will be
spending December 24, 25 and 26 with
his parents and Sweeney family.
Congratulations to Susan and Ran-
dy Lovie RR 2 Zurich (nee Masse) on
the arrivel of Natalie Theresa.
Ted and Jean Geoffrey held their
annual Christmas family dinner at
the Dominion Tavern on Sunday,
December 14 followed by a get-
together at their home afterwards.
The family of Gerald and Ila
O'Rourke (28 in all) enjoyed a
delicious turkey dinner at the Domi-
nion Tavern in Zurich last Sunday,
December 14 and afterwards all had
fun together visiting at their parents
home.
The members of St. Boniface
Christmas choir ( who have been busy
practicing for the past couple of
months) are now ready to sing at Mid-
night Mass and Christmas Day at
10:00 a.m. Their final practice was on
Monday night, and afterwards they
had a social get-together at the home
of Jerome Sweeney.
Congratulations to the first lucky
winner of the trip -of -the -month draw
being sponsored by the Zurich
Chamber of Commerce for the next
10 months. Mr. Glen Thurman of Ex-
eter won a trip for two to Curcao for
a week.
The families of Claude and
Madeline Gelinas celebrated
Christmas on Sunday, December 21 at
the Dominion (with the Gelinas side
attending ). The Wesson relatives also
got together there for supper on
November 30.
The tenants of the Maple Woods
Apartments enjoyed Christmas din-
ner together in the Common Room on
December 9 catered by Dave and
Marie Gelinas.
Ted and Jean Geoffrey celebrated
Christmas on December 14 starting
off at their home at 11:30 with lunch.
Later at the Dominion Hotel all the
family including 14 grandchildren had
fun playing shuffleboard, pool and
card games. Even Santa arrived and
visited the children, handing out gifts
and candy. A turkey and roast beef
supper was then enjoyed. Dessert was
two lovely decorated cakes (one a
snow man and one Rudolph) which
were made by Marilyn Durand to
celebrate the birthdays of Jason, Ran-
dy and Rebecca Geoffrey. Ted and
Jean would like to thank their family
for all the beautiful gifts they
received.
Louie and Catherine Masse held
their family Christmas dinner at their
home on Sunday, December 21. The
Grainger family will get together on
Boxing Day.
The kids had a couple more chances
to visit with Santa this past week and
put in their order for Christmas. On
Thursday evening he stopped in at the.
Tenderspot, and each child received
a nice bag of candy.
On Saturday afternoon the Lions
club sponsored their annual Santa
Claus day at the arena, with movies
and treats for the youngsters.
Some members of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church young group along
with some adults, spent Friday even-
ing going around town singing
Christmas carols ( which was really
nice). Afterwards they enjoyed
refreshments at the home of Tracy
Fisher. Even Santa was there.
Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. en-
joyed spending Sunday in London at
the home of her daughter Sharon and
Keva Silverstein and had a delicious
Christmas family dinner.
Paul and Heather Klopp and son
Timmy spent a few days this past
weekend in Windsor visiting with
friend Steve Fisher and several
relatives on her side of the family.
The students of both schools in town
presented enjoyable Christmas con-
certs last Wednesday night. Both
gyms were filled to capacity.
Monday night was Christmas bowl-
ing at the Town and Country Lanes
for the • ladies league ( which the
spares also took part in) . Eachleam
received a gift for the hidden score.

Charlie and Madeline Rant, Bit 2
Zurich, accompanied by their
daughter-in-law Barb Rau spent last
Tuesday and Wednesday in Windsor
where they attended the funeral of
Leo Charles Bedard. Several other
relatives from the area attended as
well.
On Friday, art members of our
bowling team, The "Pin -Poppers„ got
together for their annual Cistmas
party and dinner which this year was
held at Hessenland, followed by
refreshments and the opening of gifts
at the apt. of Alida Rau.
