One windy night up north the)elves
started to make the toys. It was
December 1st almost Christmas. On
December 2nd, the elves went into the
workshop and went to work. Grumpy
elf said, "Do we have to work?"
Another elf said, "Yes we do." The
elves worked and worked. Soon it was
December 24th Christmas Eve.
Then Santa told the elves to pull the
sled out from the Shed and get,all the
reins together. December 25th c-ame.
The elves wished Santa a nice flight.
You know what he said to one of the
elves? "Could you come with me
Grumpy?" "I guess," replied
Grumpy.
After they hooked up the reindeer
they left. One elf said "I guess Grum-
py is getting a reward." Santa and
Grumpy flew for quite awhile, when
Grumpy said, "Do you know where
we are?"
"Hm-m-m-m. Grumpy could you
please look at the map and see where
we are? "California" said Grumpy.
"California!" said Santa. We are
supposed to be in Toronto. Well we
better start heading back." After,
Santa and Grumpy wee finished
deliverjpg the toys they went back to
the workshop. Santa said to Grum-
py,"You saved the day so we are go-
ing to have a party." Meanwhile the
kids were all opening the presents
that Grumpy and Santa had left.for
them.

Big and tall
But not small
So I'll see you next Christmas
To go out and run
And have some fun.

It was Christmas Eve. I was just
going to bed when the telepone rang.
I picked it up and it was someone with
a deep jolly voice. It was Santa. "Kel-
ly, you have been a good girl and I
want you to deliver the presents for
me".
1 got so excited 1 almost screamed.
But I said, "I'll be right there". He
told me he was sick. Then he helped

Santa's

By Neve Obaarry
J.A.U.lKtev Public School
It all started on tuber 18, 2244
when Santa Claus started to load his
space ship. This was Santa's first
Christmas at the Space Pole and he
wanted to make sure it went
smoothly, and that everybody was
happy.
Santa was sure that he would have
to leave earlier on Christmas Eve
than usual because as he compared
this year's list to last year's. this
year's list was much larger. Santa
had room on his space ship for
everything.
After he sorted the electronics from
the talking dolls he was finished. He
went into his house and rested on his
couch while Mrs. Claus brought him
a glass of milk and a lot of cookies.
As Santa was eating his cookies he
looked over a map he _had so he
wouldn't get lost in space. After he

One cold Christmas Eve, a little girl
named Sarah was getting into bed. In
her head she was hoping Santa
would find her house and bring her
gifts.
Sarah's parents were very poor and
last year they couldn't afford any
gifts for Sarah. Would this year be the
same?
That night a cold figure crept into
the house. His arms were full of gifts.
He looked all around for a Christmas
tree, and when he saw there wasn't
one he rushed back outside.
Then he came back with a huge
evergreen decorated in the most
perfect way. Then he began throwing
presents under the tree.
On Christmas morning the little girl
ran down starts and jumped with joy.
Then she picked up a card that said
"Merry Christmas from the town of

The Night Santa fell
through the Roof
by Cathy Wagner
Grade 4, Stephen Central
One dark Christmas eve when I was
sleeping peacefully I heard a loud
BANG! I woke up kind of startled. I
crept out of bed and walked quietly
down the hall to where the Christmas
tree was. I looked and saw a hole in'
the roof and I saw stuff on the carpet.
It was a mess.
I ran quickly and woke up Mom and
Dad. I told them what had happened
but they didn't believe me. I told them
to go see for themselves. When they
looked they were surprised. Santa
looked at them and then at the hole in
the roof and said to my parents "I am
awfully sorry about the roof. I guess
I'had better be' more oat'eful next
time."
After Santa said good-bye and left
us our presents. Mom and Dad went
to work on fixing the roof. I went to
bed and slept soundly that night.
When I woke up in the morning the
roof was all fixed and Mom and Dad
were waiting for us 'to open the
presents. Everything was back to
normal.
When our relatives came they open-
ed their presents. We had turkey,
dressing and all that good stuff. When
we told them that Santa fell through
the roof they laughed. Every year
since that they ask us if Santa fell
through the roof. We always say
"No"!
