And the paper it shined don't you
know,
There were many presents under the

Some for you and some for me,
But the present that caught my eye,
Was the one on the table high,
And what was in the present with the

You'll have to use your imagination

How Santa Claus was
Invented
By Debbie Greenlee
Biddulph-Lucan
A toy maker was hard at work he was
making a magic sled and some magic
deers and a little fat cherry red nos-
ed man with a long white beard.
Ile worked all night. He worked all
Day and all evening. Finally he was
done. In a red jacket and pants, a big
black belt and boots was Santa Claus.
That night the Toy maker finished
and went to bed. When he woke up
there was no sled or any deers or San-
ta Claus.
He looked all over for them but they
we're no where to be found. But each
year he heard the same deers landing
on the roof and the same ho ho ho and
found the same note saying:
Merry Christmas
Toy Maker
Yours truly
Santa ('taus
And that's how Santa became San-
ta Claus.

Rudolf's Nose Burns Out
by Trevor Struth

One Christmas eve it was as cold as
ice and all the toys were being wrap-
ped and put in Santa's sleigh. As soon
as they were just leaving Rudolf's
nose burned out. Rudolph said, "My
nose is burned out".
Santa said, "We can't go anywhere
without Rudotph's nose."
They tried a big light bulb but it just
wasn't bright enough. Rudolph went
into a deep cave and went all the way
to the back of the cave to hide and he
saw his shadow. He looked at his nose.
Suddenly his nose shone brightly. it
was working again. Ile went to see
Santa. He said, "Let's go" All the
elves jumped in the sleigh and set off.
They got home just before sunset.

Mary and Joseph were -going to
Bethlehem to be counted.
Joseph asked every Innkeeper if he
could sleep there but they were all fill-
ed so they had to go into a stable
where cattle slept.
That night there were shepherds in
the fields keeping flocks by night. An
angel appeared to them and the Glory
of the Lord shone around them and
they were filled with fear.
The angel said to them, "Go to
Bethlehem and'see the king of kings."
Then all the angels sang, "Glory to
God in the highest" and they left.
They went to Behtlehem and found
them, and everyone rejoiced to God
for Jesus had come.

One day Santa said I need some

their heads together. Then Santa

Elves! Sure boss. So he put his
magical mind to work and thought.
"Oh forgot to tell you he won the
magician of the year award". I got it!
Got what! The antidote stupid. I'm
going into my workshop O.K. Just
don't blow it up. I won't. After an hour
CABOOM. Soory honey. IT WORKED
THEY'RE COMING IN THREES!
And thats how Santa got his elves!
REFLECTIONS
I tried hard not to shed that tear,
on Christmas Day with so much
cheer -
Glimpsing one rolling down your
cheek, for just awhile we
could not speak
Just viewing that droplet on your
hand, then my tear fell to form a
band,
Of sacred memories reflecting clear,
Friends and all our "kid's" first year,
Like we did once, just move around,
storing experiences newly found,
Except for those who've passed away
so very much in our thoughts this
day,
Their laughter, their voices crystal
clear
rippling the surface of our blended
tear.
For just a moment there waS this
sorrow, then a tear of joy did follow,
Our moody thoughts receding far,-
as
ar;as through the door, now ajar,
"Happy Christmas Mom Happy
Christmas Pa!" - Happy Christmas
Pa! Happy Christmas Ma...

It was Christmas eve and the elves
were packing the presents into the
sleigh. The stable elves went to get
the reindeer to hook the reindeer up
to the sleigh. All the reindeer had
picket signs that said "I quit" and
"not enough pay". The elves told San-
ta that the reindeer went on strike.
Tlneh were only 45 minutes before
take off. Santa went to reason with
them. The reindeer said "NO!"
The . Real Meaning of
Christmas
By Sarab Weverink,
Clinton and District Christian School
The real meaning of Christmas is
not just Santa Claus and getting
presents. It's being with family and
friends and thinking about Jesus'
birth and singing and reading the Bi-
ble. And here is a verse.
"The Lord said to my Lord
Sit at my right hand
Until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet."
Have a good Christmas!

The Glory of
Being a Tree
by Karen McKay
Grade 7 Stepbea Central
There you are sitting quiet and still,
until the wind blows,
The snow has covered your branches,
but you do not care
You love the snow, it makes you a
part of a wintery scene,
You watch the people toboggan down
the hills, and skate on the pond.
You're happy until the day when you
are introduced to the fact that you will
soon no longer grow, no longer be part
of the wintery scene, for someone will .
take the life away from you.
You will then, tree, be covered with
an assortment of lights, and
decorations,
With kids shaking boxed surprises
and there is where you will realize,
the glory of being a tree, in all the
peaceful scenery.

CHRISTMAS MEANS
by Nicole Masse
Grade 2, St. Boniface
Christmas means, loving and car-
ing, helpful and sliaring. Jesus warms
our hearts with his love. The big word
of Christmas is love. And its a time
of rejoicing. It is a joyful season. It
is also a time of snow, laughter,
thanking, belonging, giving, grace
and surprises too. I love Christmas
and I bet you do too. The snow falls
down. And your shrubs look soft and
cuddily. It is fun on Christmas eve. I
like being helpful. I like it when its
joyful. It is fun.
CHRISTMAS

Christmas was begun by Jesus born
in a stable in a manger on Christmas
morn. The Shepherds and the three
wise men brought gifts to them.
The angel of the Lord came upon
the shepherds and said "A baby boy
is born the city of David who is born
for all men.
The shepherds left their flocks and
followed the star in the east above
Bethlehem. King Herod saw this and
told the three wise men to find the
baby so he can go worship him too.
So that's the way we got Christmas.
