Integration group hears
of progress in schools
The Integration Action Group of
Huron County met recently in Clinton,
at the Agricultural Building, with 15
in attendance. Wendy King chaired
the meeting, with Sherry Lane as
secretary.
Wendy King explained that she
would be taking a "facilitator train-
ing" course in order to qualify for a
grant of $125 from Women Today.
This would assist the financial base
of the new Integration Action group.
A telephone list will be mailed out to
all members.
Some parents expressed interest in
touring the Guelph schools where
complete integration is in place and
working out very successfully. Dr.
Joe Waters, of the school board is
presently busy lecturing in

is in place as well. These schools.bre

for the process of total integration of
the physically and/or mentally han-
dicapped children into the same com-
munity schools that their siblings
attend.
The sut.L`essful placement of their
handicapped children is the ultimate
goal for the members of the Integra-
tion -Action Group. It is made up
mainly of parents. relatives;
teachers, and care givers, who share
this goal, and are prepared to fight for
it.
The guest speaker was Ross
Adams, of Kimberly, who is a board
. member of the I.A.G. and a parent of
a child with special needs. The In-
tegration ActionGroup was only
begun in May of 1985, but already has
a nailing list of 500. The Board has
worked on a number of briefs to pre-

Joined in by singing four popular
Christmas carols at different inter-
vals with the choir.
Ten -year-old Andrew Chung thrill-
ed everyone with his two solo pieces
on the violin. He then accompanied
the choir with their next selection
"Christmas is a Feeling".
Other entertaining selections heard
were a geometrical song entitled
"Christmas Round", a German
choraltune folk melody and two
wonderful songs all about
wintertime!
One selection "Christmas is Com-
ing" was accompanied by four of the
children on instruments to add colour
to the piece by Jim Esposito . It had
been performed by John Denver with
the Muppets, Baldwin explained.
The talented choir ended the pro-
gram with "God Bless the Master",
to a standing ovation from the crowd.
This year the St. Marys executive
welcomed Wayne Brennan, London,
to their choir as accompanist. He is
very talented and has performed at
the Huron Country Playhouse for the
past two seasons. Also, four of the
choir members performed in the HCP
play "Annie" this past season. The
whole choir was bused to Grand Bend
in the summer where they all enjoyed

in Grand Bend, a lot of people are in
for a great Christmas treat.
About town
People shouldn't have to go so far
out of their way to Christmas shop
this year, with all the stores we have
open now in the Grand Bend area.
Some stores are new, like the Queen
Street Mall, offering a wide range of
different possibilities in the gift line
this year. Others are more familiar
establishments, with new ideas.
White's Pharmacy - gift shop, has
some of the loveliest ornaments and
music boxes you'll find anywhere this
-season. The Christmas Place is
always a holiday wonderland for the
children in all of us. The Country
Sampler offers handmade delights
from talented fingers, and several
craft shops in the village sell material
to create some Christmas memories
by yourself! Have fun!

voiced their concerns over these
issues.

In his sermon, Father Morrissey

never really wanted to take a good,
