Plan for regional
Crediton UCW see mission slides

The United Church Women met on
Thursday evening September 5. Nor-
ma Fahner opened the meeting with
a poem. Scripture was read by Irene
Schlenker. Readings were given by
Irene and Norma on knowing a
Christian by his actions.
CalvinFahrnershowed slides and
told a little of his work with the Holi-
day Beach mission at Sauble Beach
each summer.
Lunch was served by lunch com-
mittee Evelyn Pickering and Leila
Finkbeiner. Plans were made for the
fall Regional meeting to be held in our
church on September 29 at 6:30.
Thanksgiving collection will be taken
at the October meeting.
The sermon topic at Zion United
Church was taken from Song of
Solomon 2:8-17 and Romans 8:1-11
titled "The Riches of the Redeemed
(Part One).
Choir practice is 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday and the Official Board
meeting is at 8:00 p.m. the same even-
ing in the Sunday School Rooms.
The September dance for Crediton
Social Club will be held on Saturday,
September 13 at 9:00 p.m. It is the
Harvest dance and Crystelaires will
provide music.
Senior Citizens night is Monday,
September 15 at Dashwood Communi-
ty Centre.
Last year on September 10 I
celebrated my 39th and holding bir-
thday so this year I guess I'll have to
be 40 and holding.
A good week -end was held at Blyth
for the Threshers Reunion. Alot of
peole from the surrounding district
attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator at-..
tended the wedding Saturday
September 6 of their oldest grand-
daughter Elizabeth Dallas
(Preszcator). She was married to
Steven De Long of Mitchell. The wed-
ding was held at Mitchell United
Church and reception was held at Mit-
chell Legion Hall.
Sunday School classes have resum-
ed at Crediton United Church each
Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
Classes are available for ages from
nursery through high school.
Any girls aged from eight to 10
years wishing to join the Crediton
United Church Explorers group are
asked to call Irene Haugh at 234-6336.

business school program of Bank-
ing and Computer Technology.
Martine is presently employed as
an assistant manager trainee at

Dashwood W.I. held the first fall
meeting Tuesday evening September
2 with conveners, Mrs. V. L. Becker,
Mrs. Florence Martene and Mrs.
Harvey Beierling in charge.
The topic was Agriculture and
Canadian Industries. We visited the
Visscher vegetable gardens where
Bert Visscher gave a most interesting
talk on the work involved in growing
vegetables and the work of the
helpers. Pamphlets were harfded out
on apples and recipes for vegetables.
Mrs. Visscher served coffee,
vegetables and cake.
On returning to the hall president,
Mrs. Emil Becker used a spider web
to portray the end yet the beginning
by comparing the month of
September to an everyday life spiral.
The London area convention is Oc-
tober 16 and 17 at the UkrainianCoun-
try Club London. Delegate is Mrs.
Edith Baker with others attending
Mrs. Gloria Beierling and Miss Sher-
rie Stade. A letter was read from
Family and Children's Service. Also
a news letter from the Museum.
The W.I. display for Exeter Fair is
September 12: Assistance was given
with the agriculture kit for schools.
Attention was given to flower beds at
hall. Mrs. Eben Weigand conducted
a penny sale. A lovely lunch was serv-
ed by the group in charge.
Dashwood senior citizens will meet
September 15 at 8 p.m.
Anyone interested in going to the
Geritol Follies in Hamilton with sup-
per in Simcoe to see the Christmas
lights December 10 please call Pearl
Miller at 237-3554.
Mrs. Emilie Miller spent two weeks
at Jasper, Alberta with her daughter,
Lorna and son-in-law Harold Main.
She enjoyed the visit.
Ryan Gary Tiernan was baptized at
Calvary United Church Sunday, son
of Gary and Marion Tieman. Spon-
sors were Michael and Karen
Tieman. The family spent the day
with George and Shirley Tieman.
Sunday guests with Hugh and Ber-
nice Boyle were Bob and Marie Boyle
and Clarke and Margaret Sim, St.
Thomas.
Friends of pastor Bob and Doris
Sinasac from Niagara Falls, Richard
and Christine Harrison and
Christine's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Smith from England were visitors at
the parsonage.

the trip to Canada's Wonderland
Saturday, September 13. Call Rev.
Sinasac by Thursday for available
seats. .
Steve and Diane Whitfield and
Lindsay, London were guests with
Mr. and Mrs. Frieda Keller also Mr.
and Mrs. Roger Keller and girls,
London.
The Keller family picnic was held
Sunday at the home of Earl and
Kathy Keller.

Mrs. Pearl Miller, Mrs. Thelma
Beierling and Harvey Beierling were
in Sarnia Saturday to celebrate the
40th wedding anniversary of Don and
Norma Grant. Norma is Mrs. Miller's
niece.
