Usborne Central wrap-up
June 6, Usborne Central had a 60's
day. Each grade dressed up in 60's
clothes. There was a variety of weird
and very unusual clothing. Just think,
in 20 years we could actually have an
80s day! At noon the senior grades
had a 60's dance and later everyone
got to observe all the outfits. I'm sure
that everyone in our school enjoyed
this weird and wonderful day.

Write! Write! Write!
June 11, Usborne Central had their
Author's Day. Half of the groups of
students went into the gym while the
other half went into the classrooms.
The people in the gym answered a
sheet of questions about the author's
whose pictures and information were
stuck up on the walls. The people in
the classrooms read their own books
to the rest of the group. It was a fun
' day and there were lots of interesting
stories.

Track and Field
June 13 Usborne and five other
schools had their track meet in Ex-
eter. A few of the events taking place
at the high school were ball throw,
high jump, standing long jump, and
running long jump. It was cancelled
on Thursday so took place on Friday.
Entrants from our school represented
us very well.

Playday
June 13, grades one and two had
their playday. In the morning they
played games such as "Doggy Get the
Bone", "Soccer Dribble", "Bean Bag
Toss" and others. At noon they took
their lunch and walked to the Mor-
rison Dam. After eating their lunch
under the pavilion, they went on the
nature trail. They found it very in-
teresting and fun.
Grand Slam!
June 20, Usborne School had a
baseball game with the teachers
against the grade eights. For the first
time in a long time, the grade eights
won. The game was slowpitch. The
entire school was there to watch the
fun.
The Last Week!
During the last week of school, we
had many exciting events. Tuesday
night, the grade 8 students had their
graduation at the Kirkton-Woodham
Community Centre. A delicious din-
ner, presentation of pins and
diplomas, and speeches were enjoyed
by all who attended. Good luck in
grade 9, graduates.
