The sermon was entitl- ed "Giving alt for the sake of all." Elisha gave up his comparatively well-to-do lifestyle to replace Elijah. Paul talks of lifestyle as a form of sacrifice to the mission Jesus calls us to. Jesus gives us freedom but that freedom is not licence to live in selfish abandon and lack of concern for others. Jesus gives for others. He requests the same behaviour from his followers. The disciples could aban- don him but do they? Jesus calls us to total commitment.
