Students learn of tornadoes, enjoy bike rodeo

Our Bike Rodeo was Thursday May
30 It started off by an inspection 01
the bicycle by the policeman. Next we
went to the test number 1 Balance. In
this oder you have to ride on a line
without going ort. Then we went o11 to
Test number 2 Diminishing
Clearance In this you have to go bet-
ween the cones without knocking
them over
We went on to test Hunner 3 Change
of Balance. In this you go around our
figure eight once without leaving the
circle with your front tire. Next we go
on to Test number 4 Single Obstacle
In this you zig-zag around the cones
without putting your foot on the
ground.
Now we go on to the last one '!'est
number 5 Stop Street In this you stop
at the crosswalk and then look both
ways at the stop sign and either go
right. left or straight.

Exeter seniors meet
The June sleeting of the Exeter
Senior Citizens commenced with a
very bountiful pot luck supper which
CWL meets
at Mt. Carmel
The :)bay meeting of the Mount
Carmel ('1V1, took place with our
newly -elected officers in charge.
President Diane Kaak, opened the
May 14 meeting, followed by the
minutes of the last meeting read by
our recording secretary Janice
Vanneste.
The treasurer's report was given by
Marlene Glavin and Mary Hogan
gave the correspondence report.
Vice-presidents are Donna Dawe.
Clasina de Bonl and Barb McCann.
past president Dara Hartman was
thanked for her work with the ('WL
over the past two years. Twenty-
seven ladies were present at this
meeting.
They discussed the Knights of Col-
umbus Communion breakfast to be
held on June 16. 1985 and also the an-
nual chicken BBQ to be held, July 14.
These topics were again discussed al
the June 4 meeting with 28 ladies in
attendance.

President Ruby Beaver, opened the
business part with a poem entitled
"Food**.
Following the opening exercises
committee reports were read and
approved.
Five, members participated in the
U.S.C,O. 11(on walk totalling 50
miles.
Card convener reported sending
sympathy cards to ('has. Tindall and
a get well card to Jean Creech.
A very successful garage and bake
sale was reported and thanks to all
who helped.
A good time was had by those tak-
ing the bus trip to Swain's. Tender
'footsies and -the cookie factory al :1It.
Bridges.
Anyone saving Zehrs tapes, please
hand them in as soon as possible
before June 15.
Birthdays were honoured and con-
gratulations to Myrtle and Norm
Brock, Hannah and Ted Lamport and
Margaret and Watte r McBride tor
their wedding anniversaries.
The September meeting will be pot
luck.
The program committee provided
a social time of games. contests and
closed by singing the Queen.

Exams - For the past week the
grade seven and eight classes of
Stephen Central have been writing ex-
.uns. The exams written this term
were Geography, English. History
and Math. The grade eights had to
also write the county wide French
exam.

events like ball throw. high jump.

Primary Field Day events were

hall, hopping around the school, and
skipping. The people who never got a
ribbon got a green ribbon for
participation.
