Plan change request explained at Hay
I Ron Overholt attended the second
regular monthly 11ay session of Ilay
township council to put on record the
motives behind his two severance ap-
plications 00 a six -acre parcel of land
at lot 6. Lake Shore West concession
owned by himself and his wife Mar-
jorie. Ile assured council he was com-
plying with the conditions set out by
the planning department in October
1984 when he applied for the second
severance.
Overholt said he wanted to allay
neighbours' fears of extensive
development. and a resulting less of
privacy, by declaring his intentions
before council, and county planner
Patty White. who also attended the
meeting. Overholt said the severances
would square off his field and make
farming that laird easier. He added he

recommendation will be sent to coun-
ty council.
In another land deal. council ap-
proved the sale of a small. wedge-
shaped section of block 1. pian 536,
owned by the township in the Moore
subdivision to the Marsh family. Ad-
ding the parcel of land will square oft
lot 29. plan 5:311. and allow UIc Marshes
to build on the property. The Marshes
will be responsible for all survey and
legal fees in the transaction.
"It's better to have tax revenue
than discourage building". Reeve -
Lionel Wilder commented.

be issued a permit to build. a cottage
on R.D. plan 10, parcel 5 with the
stipulation 1{ay township •gill not be
held responsible for any erosion that
may occur, and all AIWA and health
department regulations are c•o►nplied
with.
Wilder reported "there is a move -
afoot" for an agreement among
Stephen and Hay to take over the
Dashwood fire department. leave it
where it is. and lel the Dashwood
firemen continue to run it.
"It's in the proposal stage. and
nothing is likely to be done until 1986,
as budgets have already been.set for
this year', Wilder explained." •
Deputy Reeve Tony Bedard inform-
ed council that as a result of the
March :to workshop on recreation in
the seven area municipalities.
another meeting has been arranged
for June 27 in the South Huron ree
centre. All members of local councils
and rec managers will be urged to at-
tend to discuss surcharge versus user
fees, and joint use agreements under
the topic " Who is to pay for recrea-
tion services''"
