Following a short business meeting. Joan Hayden and April Bryan presented a meditation entitled The Miracle of a garden" and the poem "Inheritance". Each member then told what quality they admired in their mother, or had hopefully developed in themselves. The meeting closed with a lovely lunch. served by Jackie Pierce and Margaret Bryan. ' Church news At the Granton United Church the Rev. Bruce Pierce was in charge of the morning service and entitled his message "Rejoice". "Religion is the Bible" is a religion of Joy. Visits were made to several Sisters who are ill. Birthday greetings were sung for two sisters. There were many thank you cards from sisters who were ill and those .celebrating wedding anniversaries The Noble -Grand reminded all to support eye research and also the Assembly President's project. He was one of 21 ministers serving in the Western Ontario district of the Pentecostal Assemblies to receive ordination in the ceremony. Bryanston Club potluck The Bryanston Friendship Club had a pot luck dinner on Wednesday. May l at 12:30 with an attendance of 45. After a delicious dinner Audrey McRoberts welcomed everyone and read a poem "Old Friends". Meeting opened with the singing of O Canada with Dorothy Bullock at the piano. Happy Birthday was sung for May and June birthdays, Ethel Lewis, Frances Mardtin, Beth Buchanan, Ella Frayne, Mrs. For- rest, Greta Gibson and Gote Wennestrom. Happy Wedding Anniversary was sung for Clarence and Ethel Lewis, Roger and Anna Trudgeon and Bill and Hope McRoberts who -have May or June Anniversaries. Beth Buchanan gave her final report on Ilaliburton trip on June 5. 6 and 7. There are still a few empty seats. 11 was decided to carry on with our meetings for another year. Next meeting to be October 2. A short pro- gram consisted of a quiz won by Lulu Culbert. Anna Trudgeon and her daughter Darlene Tomkins, London sang four duets. • A humorous skit "The tune the salesman played" was given by several members with Dorothy Bullock at the piano. Euchre, Lost Heir and Crokinole were played. Euchre winners Ethel Grose, Dorothy Bullock and Ethel Lewis, Clarence Davis, Jean Donley playing a man's hand and Elliott McRoberts. Crokinole Hector Robinson and I Gote Wennestrom. Lost Heir - Anna Trudgeon and Beth Buchanan, Oldest mother present - Rosie Aldlrich.
