Lucan Sunday Service
"God's Plan for a Happy Mar-
riage" was Mr. Brown's sermon
theme Sunday morning at Lucan
United Church as he continued his
studies on Paul's letter to the Ephe-
sians. "Loving submission to one
another out of reverence for Christ is
the key to a happy marriage relation-
ship," Mr. Brown pointed out. But in
the stress of family living. someone
needs to have final authority. This
headship of the family God gives to
the husband and encourages wives to
accept Is leadership. However, Gal
gives the husband also the primary
responsibility for fostering love in the
marriage, demonstrating to the wife
that her deserves her trust and
respect. That love is not merely
romantic love, but Christ's kind of
love that led Him even to die for our
best interests.
Larry and Pat Cruttenden were in
charge of welcome. Jane i(olden pro-
vided a piano prelude for the service.
and Wes Stanley read the Scripture
portion. the Choir's leadership and
anthem was appreciated by all pre-
sent. Beth Cowdrey told the boys and
girls about Betty who hated having
chickenpox and was very cross and
impatient. Betty learned from her lit-
tle friend that things go much better
when we are patient and don't "rush
God". Beth was in charge of Junior
congregation also. with the assistance
of Junior Helpers.
