executive, delegates
On April 24. the board al directors
of Town and Country Homemakers,
elected their 1985-86 executive at the
first board meeting following the an-
nual meeting held earlier in the
month. Thea Trick. Clinton was
elected to a second term as .nair-
man; Lauretta Seigner, Exeter re-
mains as first vice-chairman with
Bruce McDonald, Mildmay as second
vice-chairman; Jane LeVan•stays on
the executive as secretary.

A newly created position of assis-
tant to the chairman was filled by
Betty McGregor. Kippen.
The board delegate to the Toronto
meetings of the Ontario Association
of Visiting Homemaker Services will
continue to be Jane LeVan with Bet-
ty McGregor as alternate. The board
learned that Executive Director Jean
Young has just completed writing the
first draft of agency standards of ser-
vice for membership in the
(1.A.V.II.S.
All committees were struck and
will present their goals and objectives
al the next hoard meeting on May 22.

Toronto of the Canadian Council on

and disabled people' is to be -held in
Toronto on May 29-31 with Joan Wat-
son. Chairman of the Task Force on

sponsored by the Provincial Horne
Support Conference Planning ('om--
mittee and Ryerson Polvtechnical in-
stitute. Continuing Education; with
financial support [nun the Ontario

marked in May
Mac is Family Unity Month in On-
tario. continuing a tradition started in
1975 when Family Unity Month was
first officially proclaimed by the On-
tario Government. This celebration
recognizes the many contributions

to attend his creative writing class.

friends, because, picture this, a guy
has his grandma waltze in and tell
everyone she's a pro. writer which
makes her grandson very popular
with all the chicks. Thanks a lot,
Grandma!"
In my scrap book. from a source
unknown. is an article entitled, "What
is a Grandmother?" It's a selection
by Gwyn Whilsmith

Farm Show princess contest, gave
her essay which •was enjoyed. June

board meeting and also on the rural
seminar in Brussels.
May 16 is the district annual to be
hosted by Elmville and held at
Usborne school. A motion by M.
Dougall and O. Hicks that members

Pentecostal Tabernacle was held
April 18 at the home of Mrs. Ruth
McLaren with 13 members present.
Prayer was offered by Mrs. Connie
Donnan and roll call was answered
with a verse of scripture containing
the word "trust". The minutes of the
last meeting were read by Mrs. Ada
Triebner.
Letters were read from a couple of
missionaries. The bulletin was also
read by Mrs. Ruth McLaren. Mrs.
Hilda Eizenga read a poem entitled
"The Master is Come".
The •message of the afternoon was
given by Mrs. Dorothy Cooper -"Fear
can eat you up". Wholesome fear is
God's good gift but worry can choke
the best in anyone. Trust in God can
save a lot of problems. Prayer time
followed with many members par-
ticipating. A lunch was served by
Mrs. Dorothy Cooper assisted by the
hostess.
