ed hone on Saturday evening after
spending the past 8 days in Nassau
with I.G.A. Retailers They reported
excellent weather and a good time.
Motocross
is opened
The 1985 Motocross Season Opener
was held Sunday at Holly Gully. Sun-
day's race was the first CMA (Cana-
dian Motorcycle Association) sanc-
tioned race of the year.
A warm breeze and sunny skies
helped to make the event a success
for not only the riders but the spec-
tators as well. The track was in ex-
cellent condition and riders set very
fast lap times. right from the first
race. Riders competed in all classes
from Schoolboys right up to Experts
The next race at Holly Gully will he
held on Saturday. April 27 when the
House league season opener will he
held.

Dashwood seniors

Dashwood Seniors met Monday,
April 15 with over 200 in attendance.
Guests were present from Exeter,
HKnsall, Zurich and Grand Bend. The
('WL of Mount Carmel presented
their play, "Murder for the Bride"
which was very enjoyable.
Following a lunch of sandwiches
and squares the Seniors held a short
business meeting. Due to the meeting
falling on the May 20 holiday it will be
held May 13. Plans were made to at-
tend the Spring Rally in Clinton.
A donation was made to the
Dashwood and Area Business
Association for the book they are hav-
ing printed.

The Lutheran Laymen's League
Rally was held at St. John's Church,
Seebach's Hill Wednesday, April 17
with Ted Ulmer, Kitchener, speaking
on the Lutheran Church in Canada.
John Daniels spoke of the many
countries he had visited promoting
the Lutheran Laymen's League. Ed
Becker also spoke. Lunch followed.
Officers appointed were - Presi-
dent, Daniel Mellecke; vice-
president, Earl Keller; segretary.

Six Senior Citizens from Dashwood
club attended the Senior Citizens
Spring Rally in Clinton, Wednesday.
Guest speaker Mrs. Lovina Bloom-

The first meeting of the Exeter 4-H
Horse and Pony Club was held on
April 15 at Adriaan Brand's farm.
There were 18 present including
leaders Adriaan Brand and Kelly
Ryan.
The club welcomed new -members,
Kelly Young, Shannon Bird, Lee Hope
and Gary Wilson.
The executive officers for the com-
ing year were elected: Marie
DeBruyn, president; Tammy Thur-
man, vice-president; Jackie Schot-
troff, secretary and Janice Bishop,
press reporter. After the elections, the
event calendar for the year was
planned.
There is a horse club movie night
on April 25 at the Clinton Public
School. It .begins at 7:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. There will be
a judging competition -on May 25 at
the Clinton fair grounds. Horses,
dairy and beef cattle, corn, soybeans,
eggs, hay, apples and jeans will be
judged. Registration is at 8:15 a.m.
On July 20 the Exeter 4-H Horse and
Pony Club invites you to a rodeo at the
E>leter Fairgrounds. Our special
guests will be the employees of ARC
Industries and the students of Huron
Hope. The rain date is July 27.
This year looks like an interesting
one and we would appreciate support
from you.

The family of Mrs. Lucinda Keller
held open house Saturday in honor of
her 80th birthday. Many called to ex-
tend good wishes and congratulations.
Mrs. Oscar Miller had the misfor-
tune to fall down a flight of stairs. She
suffered a cracked wrist and other
cuts and bruises.
Mrs. Florence Martene spent Sun-
day with Dean and Joanne
Kernick is
Lincoln star
Centre John Kernick, who was one
of the top performers in the playoffs,
was selected St. Marys Lincolns' most
valuable player this season.
Kernick and four other Lincs
received team awards last Thursday
during the Lincolns'Tan apprecation-
night at the community centre.
After collecting 28 goals and 28
assists in the regular schedule, Ker -
nick shone in the playoffs. In 21 post -
season games, the 19 -year-old Exeter
native scored 20 goals and added 20
assists.
Paul Kalbfleisch, one of six Lincs
to go overage this year, won MVP
honours the last two seasons. Lin-
colns' MVP award is donated by
Frank Edye.
