recorded a win and a tie this week in
league play but dropped a 6-1 decision
to Clarke Road in exhibition play. The
junior kickers did not fair quite as
well, losing two matchesand tying a
third.
Monday, both squads travelled to
Stratford Central to take on the
Ramblers. The senior squad was
bothered by the hot weather and did
not play nearly as well as possible.
As a result the seniors managed to
only record one point with their 2-2 tie.
Al Pym and Scott oilier were the
scorers for the locals.
The junior team was perhaps a lit-
tle psyched out to be without the ser-
vices of star rookie Jon O'Connor.
Forwarding only token effort the
juniors were shut out by Central by a
2-0 score.
In other league matches this week
the seniors defeated Wingham by a
lopsided score of 5-1. Scoring for the
locals were Al Pym with two and Sean
O'Rourke. Brian Topp and Dale
Regier with one each.
Against Wingham the junior
kickers recorded one point with a one
all tie. Bryan Quinn scored for the
Panthers.
The locals played host to Clarke
Road of London in exhibition play but
both squads were defeated by the ci-
ty teams.
The local seniors found themselves
short-handed due to injuries and had
to call on juniors to fill gaps in the
lineup.
It took a junior, Dave Bryson, to
break the Clarke Road shut out. The
Panthers found themselves playing in
their own end of the field most of the
afternoon against the defending
WOSSA champions.
The junior Panthers managed to
keep their match much more respec-
table but still played the good host
role, losing 2-1. Sivilay Sengkhoun-
many scored the lone South Huron
goal.
The Panthers are in action back on
home field Friday when they play
host to Mitchell. The junior game
kicks off at 1:30 while the seniors take
the field al 3:00.
