Badminton team runnersup at NIP three win individual titles
The seniors, who were able to
qualify, will now be preparing for
WOSSA which is to be held Saturday
in Sarnia. The junior team will com-
pete at Huron -Perth April 30 at
Wingham.
The MIDI -IS senior badminton team
was runner-up at the recent Huron -
Perth championships.
The locals fell just one point short
of bringing the team title back to
South Huron. The seniors lost the
team championship to Listowel by
one point.
George Pratt and Scott Bogart
were the boys' doubles winners at
Ituron-Perth. After defeating Clinton
in their first game, Pratt and Bogart
lost to Listowel and were forced to the
losing side of the tourney.
Pratt and Bogart met back up with
the Listowel pair again in the semi-
finals and took revenge, ousting the
Lords for a berth in the final against
Madill.
The local pair then took to the task
of bating Madill two matches in a
raw. It took Pratt and Bogart five
games before they were declared win-
ners after playing a total of 16 games.
Kendra Arthur was the singles
champ at the conference champion-
ships. Arthur went undefeated her ten
games throughout the tournament.
The team of Bogart and Pratt and
Kendra :Arthur both qualify for com-
petition at WOSSA with their first
place finishes.
Brian Topp and Pam Cottrell
qualified for WOSSA by finishing
third overall in the mixed doubles
