Date set for hearing
on Hay -Exeter item
May 15 has been set as the date the
Ontario Municipal Board will conduct
a hearing into Exeter's objection over
the Township of Hay proposal to allow
an agri-industrial park to be
developed at the town's northern
limits.
Huron Farms has been granted ap-
proval by the township, but that has
not been appealed by Exeter.
Representatives of the two
municipalities have engaged in writ-
ten and verbal debate over the issue
for some time in the hope of reaching
a compromise, but when that was not
possible, Exeter decided to proceed
with the appeal.
The hearing is set for 10:00 a.tn. in
the Hay municipal building in Zurich.
Clerk Liz Bell reported to council
this week she had informed the town's
independent planner, Jean Monteith,
and the Stratford law firm of Mitchell
and Mountain of the hearing date so
they can prepare the town's presen-
tation for the OMB.
