Church Service
Rev. Robert Matheson was in
charge of the Palm Sunday church
service. Psalm 118 was read respon-
sively. The children's hymn was
••Hosan a, Loud Hosanna".
Rev. Matheson told the children's
story entitled "He Died For You."
The choir rendered an anthem ac-
companied by the pianist Miss Agnes
Bray. The Scripture Lesson was read
from Isaiah 50: 4-9A, Philippians 2:
5-11, John 12: 12-16.
The sermon was entitled "Gift of
Life".
The third Servant Song written at
the end of Babylonian exile gave a
new understanding of Jesus' suffer-
ing. Declaration of the prophetic role
of the nation of Israel.
The nation is deaf to the Word of
God and prophet is certain God is on
his side. The servant offers en-
couragement to the weary and trusts
God even while'having to cope with
darkness or fog.
