Ailsa Craig
There was a lot of activity around
the corner of Main and Jamieson
Street last week as a crew from the
Middlesex County Library and the
Ailsa Craig Library staff moved
books, shelves and furniture into the
first bay of the old fire hall that has
been renovated for the Ailsa Craig
Public Library.
Not only is the library in a new
hone but there is also new reading
material on the shelves as an ex-
change of books with the Middlesex
County Library has just been
completed. •
At the end of the week the library
opened again and the staff will
welcome you in the new library.
Storytime with Reta Dixon will
begin again on Friday, April 12 at 1
p.m.
Seniors meet
During the business of the Happy
Gang seniors at the town hall on
Wednesday afternoon, plans were
made for the dinner meal when the
Montrose, Michigan seniors will be
guests on April 30.
The group accepted invitations to
Lucan seniors on April 11 as well as
to Ilderton on April 23.
Seven tables of progressive euchre
were in play with prizes going to Lor-
raine Neil, Sybil Stephenson,
Margaret Carter, Nora Ross, Gertie
Hodgins and Marion Levine.
The next ?euchre is April 10.
Activity Centre
It was fun, food and fellowship at
the Craigwiel Activity Centre on
Tuesday evening when a group of
seniors met. A variety of games were
enjoyed by all.
Tea and cookies were served by
Janet Rose and committee.
Films and games night will be up-
coming later in the month.
Personals
Riverview Women's Institute an-
nual meeting will be held on April 9
at 1;30 p.m.- in the Masonic Hall.
Visitors are welcome. The Resolution
committee plan an interesting
program.
A family gathering as well as
friends met last Sunday in theSouth
Lounge of the Craigwiel apartments
to extend "Happy Birthday" to Ken
Hobbs of Craigholme.
PLAN BOOK SALE
Middlesex County Library will hold
their annual booksale for one day on-
ly, Thursday, Apr it 25 fropm 9:00 a.m.
to 9:00 p.m.
Hardcover books for children and
adults, special items and thousands of
paperbacks will be on sale at bargain
prices. There will be different selec-
tions every hour.
The sale will be held at the main
library in Arva. Proceeds from the
sale will be used to purchase new
books.
