South Huron gymnasts
dominate conference test
South Huron's gymnastics squad
enjoyed a very successful day at the
Huron -Perth meet last week and were
very optimistic of their chances of
regaining the WOSSA title yesterday
i'l'uesday 1.
Due to the fact that only two schools
participated in the conference meet,
no team championship was awarded.
Local girls did claim all three of the
individual awards.
Patty O'Toole was the junior in-
dividual champ, finishing the four
events with a 31.4 point total.
Runners-up in the junior division
were Sarah Patterson in second,
Laurie Forrester in third and Karen
Hoffman in fourth position.
In the intermediate category, Carol
Morrissey claimed the individual ti-
tle while Ronalyn Bell was runner-up.
Mary Martens completed the day in
fourth place behind Norwell's

The only competition South Huron's
senior gymnasts received was from
themselves. Norwell sent no senior
competitors and left the local com-
petitors Lee O'Rourke. Rosemary

finish first, second and third
respectively.

intermediate beam with a score of 8.0.

senior floor and was followed by
O'Rourke with an 8.4 and Rosemary
Morrissey with a 7.4.
South Huron finished exceptionally
well in the bars. Patty O'Toole was
the junior winner and was followed by
Patterson, Forrester and Lisa Birm-
ingham. In the intermediate bars,
Carole Morrissey scored an 8.3 and
was followed by Kim Boogemans, se-
cond; Ronalyn Bell, third; and Mary

competitor in the junior vault. Patter-
son, O'Toole and Karen Hoffman
finished behind Forrester in second,
third and fourth respectively.
Kim Boogemans was the in-
termediate vault winner with a 7.9
score. Martens and Lawson finished
third and fourth respectively.
Lee O'Rourke was the senior vault
winner with a score of 8.8 and was
